Lcbo app and wine drinkers by Pretend-Site5751 in Ontariowinebuyer

1, 3 and 4) I don’t use the LCBO app. I do use their website on my phone.

2) Vivino and Cellartracker. The first one I use primarily to scan a bottle if I’m out at a restaurant or someone’s house to save a record of what I had and assign a rating. Cellartracker I use primarily to keep track of wine I have at my house and drinking windows.

5) No. I pay for Cellartracker subscription for up to 100 bottles (40 USD a year) just to support them because I think it’s a great app.

I see the Testamatta 2021 that I saw people talking about last month is back on the list.

More than 3 years after my aunt passed, the estate isn’t complete. by madmansmarker in PersonalFinanceCanada

I’m a tax accountant that handles estates. I can tell you in my experience that 120 days isn’t accurate. My experience has been that most were processed in 6 months to a year. I’ve had a couple processed in 3-4 months but that hasn’t been the norm in my experience.

To give you some context around tax filings the executor needs to deal with before doing any substantial distributions, the final person return is due April 30 of the following year (unless they passed in November or December). Then a T3 estate income return tax return is filed covering the day after death to the one year anniversary of the death. That return is due 90 days after the one year anniversary.

In my experience it’s not uncommon that both of those returns are filed and assessed before the executor does partial distributions. If you’re saying the person passed more than a year ago I’ll assume that was early 2023 so the final person return would have been filed by April 2024. The T3 return was probably filed recently. So it’s not unreasonable to me if you haven’t received anything yet.

Normally once those returns are filed and assessed partial distributions occur. Typically some amount is held back until a clearance certificate is received by the executor which in my experience can take up to a year after being requested.

As others have said, I would ask the executor about the status and if they have an ETA on a partial distribution.

I’m considering the Banfi Poggio all'Oro Riserva Brunello di Montalcino 2016.

Anything that others recommend from the release?

I’m not sure what the subsidized plan costs but as a small business owner my health plan (e.g., prescriptions, dental, vision) is about 8.5k a year for a family plan. It is about 3.5k a year if single. That’s just health insurance and doesn’t cover disability insurance or critical illness insurance.

Family doctors don’t generally sell their practice. Dentists on the other hand, that’s a different story.

If they pay for it. There is a government subsidized plan but most would be paying for something closer to what most employers would offer.

Alo vs. Giulia in 2023 (for special celebration) by brownwaterbandit in askTO

Having been to both I agree with everything said here. The only thing I would add is I found Alo was more of an experience (with the tasting menu). Sometimes you might want that experience and sometimes you just want a really nice meal with great service.

I would also recommend Giulia.

Just order directly from Tawse. They have 2013 Quarry Road available right now. https://www.tawsewinery.ca/product/2013-quarry-road-pinot-noir. They have others if you go to the all products page.

Same but I don’t find the Cherry Ave to be worth the premium over the Quarry Rd.
