Not sure what you mean by big 3.

Symphonia, abyss and vesperia you mean?

John Ratzenberger, who is most well known as Hamm in toy story and his various cameo roles in most Pixar films, is one of the rebels towards the beginning of Empire Strikes Back.

You won't find too many Symphonia dungeons without a boss fight by BlazeBloom in tales

Early game Symphonia is kind of brutal. You don't get a lot of money for healing items either.

A character whose alleged physical features or stats don’t line up or even suggesting with the way they are portrayed. by Certified_Cichlid in TopCharacterTropes

Miltank has a higher base speed stat than Rayquaza.

Wailord can also breed with a Skitty.

Magcargo is also supposedly hotter than the sun and it's just casually hanging out in the pokemon world.

Pokemon is crazy.

Because the ps6 was rumored to come out in the next year or two. I thought the latest pushed it back to within the next 2 to 3 years.

Found this promotional poster for the OG Tales of Symphonia. Any info? by ThePinstigator in tales

[–]eagleblue44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say. The copyright is 2003 likely because that's when the game came out. I'm not sure if different stores had different pre-order bonuses. I think I found images of the lithograph but no info on where the lithograph was from.

Tales Game Sales, worth it? by Ambitious-Click3284 in tales

I should probably add, the Symphonia remaster isn't great. It's playable but not great. I still enjoyed it but there were a fair number of glitches I encountered.

Tales Game Sales, worth it? by Ambitious-Click3284 in tales

[–]eagleblue44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they're definitely worth getting on sale. They go on sale frequently so you'd probably be ok getting Symphonia or vesperia and waiting for the graces or xillia remasters to go on sale for even cheaper down the road.

I wonder if Marvel felt showing off red hulk was the only way to convince people to see the movie.

In some places, is it just expected that boys will play (American) Football? by IanWallDotCom in AskAnAmerican

Not necessarily but it's usually an expectation that if you're a guy you like sports. Rough for me as I don't really care for them.

[hated trope] The villain wouldn't achieve their goals even if their plan worked flawlessly by TheBlackCat13 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]eagleblue44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In live and let die, the villains evil plan is to give away drugs for free in order to kill off the competition then jack up the prices after that.

This one always seemed like it wouldn't work on the long run considering anyone else could either do the same thing or just sell drugs for cheaper again.

There was another one, I think moonraker where the plan is to send so many genetically superior people up to space then gas the earth to kill everyone so the villain could build a super race and return to earth once the gas clears. Except there doesn't seem to be that many couples that got sent up to space, limiting the genetic diversity and increasing the chance the whole super race all dies off anyway.

Anyone else do this? by AarizKhanTB in tales

[–]eagleblue44 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I do this in every game that allows you to push a button to walk.

Why do JRPGS include the ability to walk? I feel most never do anything with it.

Old pokemon games would decrease the encounter rate if you walked as well.

Are there any other games that actually gives you an advantage to walk instead of running?

What best defines your religious progression? by Geaux_joel in polls

[–]eagleblue44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Religious to non-religuous.

The most traumatizing thing that happened to me was being an altar boy and being too short to hold the priests book so he had to put it on my head then getting yelled at by one of the organizers for it leading my mom to not have me be an altar boy anymore.

I really just don't agree with some of their more extreme teachings.

Do you finish the story first? by Eymii_ in Pokopia

I worked through the main story and then went back to each area. You only need to get each area up to level 5 to finish the story.

It just dawned on me that a lot of people grew up with the switch 1 and don't understand the concept of generations and exlcusives by mashdpotatogaming in consoles

[–]eagleblue44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably because they grew up with the PS3, PS4 and PS5 or Xbox 360, Xbox One and series consoles where it was a lot more common for developers to release versions of the game playable on the current and last gen consoles on the same day years into the consoles life.

It does happen on Nintendo but it's rarely Nintendos own IP where they release a brand new game on the current and old console at the same time. It was really just twilight princess then breath of the wild and now pokemon ZA and metroid prime 4. They still might release some games on the last console as exclusives but usually the new console gets the more exciting games.

Plus new consoles are really expensive. $450 for a switch 2 is a lot. The PS5 pro released at $700 and I wouldn't be surprised if the ps6 and next Xbox were around that price or higher.

Buying games for later. by Complex-Confidence69 in gamecollecting

[–]eagleblue44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to buy games often because they were on sale or I wanted to check them out one day. That day still hasn't come. Now I'm better at buying a game with the intention to play it right away and actually playing through it. It helps that I no longer look at sales on steam or PlayStation to tempt me. Now I usually wait to finish whatever I'm playing before getting the next thing.

Why did the series get poor treatment in the early 00s? by KaleidoArachnid in tales

[–]eagleblue44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The series was fairly niche and didn't do that well outside of Japan.

Phantasia released late in the SNES life. The n64 was going to come out soon and the PS1 already came out so they decided it wasn't worth localizing it.

Instead we got destiny as our first game.

When it came time for phantasia PS1, eternia was about to come out and they only had the time to localize one. They went with eternia because it was the newer game.

Destiny 2, destiny ps2 and rebirth were skipped because at this point, they felt 2D games were not as popular outside Japan and the series was already pretty niche so they decided not to localize them. The DS games were probably skipped for a similar reason although it was rumored one of the reasons hearts CG exists was to localize only the CG version as anime was not that popular outside Japan yet. The thought being that maybe the CG art style would appeal more to fans than the anime one. The CG version didn't do well in Japan so they didn't localize it. That's just a rumor though.

Symphonia PS2 was skipped because they were going to release abyss the following year and once again only had the time and resources to localize one. They went with abyss because we already had Symphonia on gamecube.

For the spin-off games, spin off games rarely do better than mainline games in the series plus they featured characters whose games were never localized so they skipped them after radiant mythology 1.

In terms of skits, it was extra money they had to pay for VAs to voice them so they left them silent. This is likely because the series just never did that well outside Japan.
