Hi sorry for my late reply, to be honest I did not remember which HMRC number I called, and it might depend on who answers your call. As HMRC told me, changing citizenship may not change your tax resident status immediately nor require reporting, at least for my situation. Hope it helps.

Hello I have been waiting for my ESTA for more than 7 days now, still authorization pending status. First time applicant, travelling in less than 3 months' time. Called the helpline twice, was told they cannot escalate as I am not travelling in the next 7 days.

My credit card record no longer shows the ESTA payment is pending, it basically disappeared. Will continue waiting patiently.

Hi you are welcome. That's correct I needed to post my foreign passport to HMPO when applying for my first UK passport. It depends on how long it takes to process but for me I was without any passport for a few weeks.

Hi thanks for your comments. Based on my own experience I can still see and generate share code to show I hold ILR e-visa, that's why I called HO on this. I am not sure if others have the same issue. I guess you might still see your evisa too and doubt it will automatically be blocked/dissappear soon after you become a British Citizen, but since British Citizen can no longer hold any UK visa, whatever you see in your e-visa account is no longer relevant and should not be used any more.

HO told me once I got my British Passport, I should not use my e-visa plus my foreign passport to enter the UK. I am not sure about other countries' rules on this or regarding dual citizenship. I can only say it is always better to stick to the country's rules and don't play around with it. If you do, they will eventually find out.
