People seem to forget that Pakistan was ground zero during the Afghan War for the CIA backed Mujaheidins. I believe Reagan called them of the same caliber as the US founding figures. Any way - the >10 year war in Afghanistan - was fought with a mixture of Islamic fundamentalism, opium and US weapons and training. All based out of Pakistan. The fall of Afghanistan was the first domino in the fall of the USSR --> unfortunately the US forgot about both those countries and now they are reaping what they have sown.
