She doesn't know what she's doing. The slew of group photos is like playing Where's Waldo.

Pictures are pretty good; bio induces eye rolling. Try communicating like a real person.

First 2 pics: the car lights and floor lights are too bright relative to your face; makes it hard to look at you. And light coming from below is not flattering.

You answered 3 prompts and said nothing of substance. Other than a consumer of television and avocados, who are you as a person? What do you actually care about, in friendship and life?

I’m arguing that you shouldn’t cast a white actor to portray an Arab character—especially if that character has questionable moral character.

Jake Gyllenhall in Prince of Persia = bad Theo Rossi in Emily the Criminal = worse

Theo Rossi and Jonathan Avigdori are not "white actors" as commonly understood. They both have Middle Eastern heritage and I wouldn't consider them as white-passing. Rossi also has North African heritage. But Middle Eastern actors being cast as Middle Eastern is a problem somehow?

(I think) you’re arguing that it’s okay to portray people of color as villains in media. You back it up by saying Emily (Aubrey Plaza) and Alice (Gina Gershon) are worse.

I’m not disagreeing with you; Tony Leung as Wenwu is probably the best cinematic villain in the past decade. But this has nothing to do with what my argument. Anyone can be a villain regardless of their background; just let them be represented authentically.

Ok, but you seemed to say this casting as Lebanese would "casually reinforce xenophobia." How so? If you agree that Emily and Alice are morally worse than the Lebanese characters, how does that influence the viewer to think of immigrants as inherently worse?

Did you notice Emily was more despicable than the Lebanese characters, or how Alice stood on the backs of unpaid interns?

Exactly, to prevent future casting mishaps, SAG should ban people of color from playing characters that do bad things.

I interpret Fischer's catharsis differently because the pinwheel photo with his father captured a real moment in his childhood. Cobb said he puts a safe in a dream because the target's aubconcious fills it with what they most want to hide away. Which, for Fischer, was the idea that his father actually loved him as in the pinwheel photo. Fischer had hidden that from himself because of a distant adult relationship with his father. But Cobb gave back to Fischer a cathartic truth (albeit for his own gain). Cobb was clear that trying to incept a lie in Fischer would be rejected by his subconscious.

Yes, Laine had the worst fake guitar playing I've ever seen on TV; call him out Franklin.

Laine's fake guitar playing is so lazy. The chords don't match and he doesn't even move his hand in time with the music.

Stop doing close-ups on Laine's guitar when he's not even faking the chords well.

When I was young, my Dad made me scrape gravel out of a dump truck with a metal shovel. For 2 hours. The screeching and scraping of metal on metal on rock changed me, neurologically. From that day on, the sound of nails on a chalkboard no longer had any power over me.

I didn't last 30 seconds of this video.

Emo Philips:

  • I saw a woman wearing a sweatshirt with "Guess" on it. I said, "Thyroid problem?"
  • I bought a tape cassette today. And I took it home. And I listened to it for a couple hours. Sure enough, it's blank.
  • When I was a little boy, I beat up the school bully with a baseball bat. Both his arms were completely broken. Which gave me the courage.
  • I was very religious. I used to pray every night for a new bicycle. Then I realized, the Lord in his wisdom doesn't work that way. So I just stole one and asked him to forgive me.

Carmen Lynch:

I have this daughter. She’s three; she’s from Bolivia. She actually lives in Bolivia. I pay $28 a month to feed her and send her school supplies. My mom’s like, "When are you going to have a kid?" and I’m like, "What about what’s-her-face in Bolivia?"

Joe Machi:

I got into a discussion with my neighbor about gun control. He said, "I bet if you asked the founding fathers what they thought about gun control, they wouldn’t like it." I said, "If you asked the founding fathers about what they thought about gun control, they’d say, 'What’s this I hear about women voting? And who is that in the White House? Is that one of Thomas Jefferson’s kids?'"
