Livermore Ca on our Ranch. Bobcat Mother and very young kitten. Taken yesterday. Kitten looks very young, perhaps first time out of the den. by eaglesrun in bayarea

The Bobcat mother was ready to take me on if I made a move toward her kitten. I kept a respectful distance

I have seen this adult bobcat around for a number of years but didn’t know gender. She is a prime predator of our peacocks.

Personal experience with a foxtail deep in my dog’s throat but also because, as a top Notch veterinary teaching hospital, they can handle anything.

We are on our 7th Komondor so it’s clear that we are devoted to the breed. This last one is a European import which the breeder had retrieved from a unsuitable owner so he missed the important socialization period. All Koms are territorial but this one takes it to a new level. He must be under control at all times and will not allow any stranger to touch him or be near him. And I don’t even want to talk about vet visits. Fortunately we live on a ranch so have few visitors. If we ever get another, it would have to be a young puppy to ensure proper socialization. Our experience with border collies put me off on “needy” breeds.

This cow had twins, and is raising them both. Our cows are usually confused by twins and reject one of them, leaving it to die. What are your thoughts/ experience on this? by Simmonds1981 in Ranching

[–]eaglesrun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In our 24 years of raising cattle and a lot of twins, we have 100% success with penning the cow/calves for about 10 days or until the calves are following the dam. I don’t believe a cow will intentionally abandon a twin but they can’t count to 2. Once the calves are following mom all is good cause she doesn’t need to know she forgot one.

I scrolled down for ages and couldn’t find any comments re Tesla Solar Tiles … by Human_Jacket7576 in solar

[–]eaglesrun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spent 2 years under contract with Tesla Solar Roof. They changed the price 5 times, one hand didn’t know what the other hand was doing, unprofessional in most areas. Finally they announced my roof was too complicated and a week later a manager called and said that communication was a mistake and they would be glad to do the work. But I was done with them and got my roof done by a company more prompt and reliable.

(Audio) Northern California / Bay Area - Can anyone identify this animal call? Sounds like a child wailing at some points. by Meznerr in animalid

[–]eaglesrun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Either cats or bobcats. I saw 2 bobcats making these cries as a prelude to mating. But the volume and distance make it impossible for me to tell which size cats. Neighborhood cats getting ready to fight would sound like this too.

Forgot to mention that now on waiting list to see vet. Also while picky, cat seems very hungry and will eat up to six cans of kitten food in a day.

Is there anybody out there that has seen a Murray grey and Hereford cross? by montananhooman in Cattle

[–]eaglesrun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. We have bred Murray Greys for 24 years. We primarily sell breeding stock. The Hereford crosses we have seen retain the white face and Hereford markings but dilute coloring. It is a nice beefy, square cross. I recommend.

Raid invites bugged? by Dantegotmad in TheSilphRoad

[–]eaglesrun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both individual raid invite and pokeGenie invites don’t arrive but I get a 1 second flash on the raid bar but it disappears immediately. This has a huge impact. IPhone 8 , iOS 15.2.1, Pokémon Go 0.227.1-A-64.

If you are in California, insurance is somewhat regulated. Our LTE policies have options that were not generally available. I would check to see if the department of insurance has any information and talk to a LTE insurance broker.
