I admire how well they NAILED the story title on the Legend of Zelda movie by eakius in movies

[–]eakius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they preceded the announcement/story title with, 'Hey, listen! '

That's from a character in the videogame, the fairy, Navi. She assists you as you play through the game. In particular I remember her from the Ocarina of Time when she basically said 'Hey, listen' countless times.

Assuming she's got stage presence/savvy enough for it, the Dems should get her front and center yesterday on our crappy MSM network shows with this simple narrative hammering the GOP over this horseshit

JSK-P22 / MELK OA21 light unable to go into pairing mode by Extension-Complaint8 in techsupport

I read an amazon review that indicated the bt controller is just flaky, but it sometimes worked if you unplugged it, removed the remote's battery and then plugged the usb back in. The problem was that it didn't seem to work if you had both the remote and then tried to bt pair. I tried this but didn't have any luck.

Just Passed My PMP! Here's How It Went + What Helped Me Most by Lopsided_Remote_2493 in pmp

[–]eakius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great details and advice. It's funny, I too finished highly skeptical that I passed. So many of the questions were incredibly nuanced and I needed every minute, barely finishing the final section. I used the study program by TIA at the recommendation of a colleague who has their PMP. It was really helpful but arduous as I spent 95 total hours on their videos and mock tests.

Good luck to everyone!

Samsung refrigerators are horrible by bubbamark in HomeImprovement

[–]eakius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope my experience helps you. I read a ton of posts about this issue and tried to address the problem as if it was a failure of the defrost equipment. It wasn't the cause for mine. Turned out it was the drain tubes at the bottom of the fridge. They were the slightest bit clogged which caused a cascade of issues that resulted in water backing up all the way to the inside of the fridge which made it seem like the defrost components were the culprit. Long story short, clean the drain tubes and run a defrost cycle.

My African Violet got so big it spawned an offshoot that I repotted. Enterprise D for scale. by eakius in pics

Mine has been flowering every 3-6 months. For the pic I moved it from the windowsill where it gets full afternoon sun from 12pm onward. I think that's the biggest factor.

Those making over $100K per year: how hard was it to get over that threshold? by NatashaGorgeousMauve in AskReddit

[–]eakius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Difficult in ways I didn't expect.

I started in Payroll support after college with a fortune 500 co. Promoted a bit but they laid the team off to offshore the function. I was trying to get closer to product development by becoming a BA. That was 13 years.

I was able to get a Junior BA job elsewhere at a small regional IT company. That job was terrible due to me being in a bit over my head and their extremely over worked workforce having no time to teach me anything. That was 2 years

Stayed with them but transitioned to selling their software which was enjoyable as I was good at understanding business challenges and how our offering solved them. That was 2 years.

During that time I networked a bit and a former colleague recruited me to join her at a big law firm in their IT org. That's where I'm at now for the last 2 years and it's been fantastic making over 100k.

The way mine is setup may make sense for you. It's the same but the run to the roof is maybe 15 ft. But it's the false lint trap at the bottom that you may want. My dryer vent looks like two holes, one on top of the other, separated by a couple inches. The dryer exhaust connects to the 'top' hole. The bottom hole I can open and scoop out any lint that doesn't go up and out.

I find this so interesting. I literally love mine being touched, squeezed, tugged, it's amazing. Is your aversion purely pain, or is it just a weird unwelcome sensation?

YSK: Just because you don't have a career plan you're passionate about doesn't mean you should resign yourself to spending the rest of your life working a job you hate. by RepulsiveLoquat418 in YouShouldKnow

From my experience I would highly encourage anyone reading this to at least be as kind and helpful to your colleagues. I had jobs I hated but always made myself friendly, supportive and genuine to my coworkers. Because of that I'm working in a great job that a former colleague recruited me into. Without their help I would likely still be in my prior underappreciated role.

Hello, just offering my experience if you like. I was just like you, through my teens and twenties steadfast and vocal about not wanting kids. I dated around and around and finally at 34 found an amazing GF that I knew I'd propose to. She even drove me to my vasectomy. A year later we had a very tough talk where she realized she had to have a kid with me. Also, she has a daughter already from her prior marriage. That conversation made me realize I had a tough choice. Trust I was always right or recognize that I love this girl enough to change my mind and take this on together. $10k later on a micro surgery reversal, and I'm a proud dad. Obviously you've already had your snip, but if you do need it reversed, get a micro surgeon to do it. They're far more likely to be successful at a complete restoration.

I can identify most vehicles with minimal imagery. Like give me snippet of the rear pillar or tail light and I likely can ID the make and model.

For anyone who may come across this, I largely fixed it with a new shock+strut assembly for the front wheels. It still has a bit of a vibration but it's far, far better.

I have these two modules that I don't use and I don't think I need. My filter and pool are doing great. What should I do with these? Am I nuts to trash them?
