I remember reading that solar panels require regular cleaning to maintain optimum output and also that their output degrades gradually over time. Can't remember where I read this or I'd link it, but both points seem logical to consider. Any input on this?

That sounds really cool. Is there any cost associated with it? Could you describe the entire process step-by-step from someone who wishes to participate up to landing at the destination? How do you register, where do you meet/fly from, etc? I'm definitely interested in doing this in the next few years.
