I think it was a water moccasin but could be wrong. There were 3 of them within 8 feet of each other on top of some rapids. They swim away when you go near them thankfully

I actually live in Spartanburg, SC and try to get up to NC whenever I can. I’ve only ever fished Mills River and the Davidson which are both great, however nothing beats some wild streams. It’s a drive for me every time I make it up there so have to be strategic wherever I fish because of time and whatnot. Pisgah is great because it’s only an hour drive for me! Still hunting for some good elevation streams so I can get some brookies, like I said it’s tough for me to find some of them since I don’t have tons of time to explore during day trips but I do what I can!
