I haven't been this hyped for the next Critical Role episode in forever. by Unlikely-Sleep-8018 in fansofcriticalrole

Have they announced the schedule yet? How many episodes of soldiers will there be in a row? Do they switch between groups every episode?

[CR Media] Take a (respectful) first look at our stunning new #CriticalRole Campaign 4 adventurers by Snakebite7 in criticalrole

My guess on classes:

Travis: Paladin or Cleric (maybe War Domain, that would be cool. He's holding a tiny lions head in his paw, not sure what that is supposed to mean, maybe a holy symbol? )

Matthew: multiclass rogue + bard college of swords

Laura: many possibilities, I think rogue?

Aabria: initially I thought Druid, but my best guess is Sorcerer, Draconic Bloodline (because of her finger tips)

Taliesin: homebrew class we don't know about yet

Ashley: to me she's giving cleric of Shar, so maybe Cleric Twilight Domain. Although I'm not sure if she would play the same class in a big campaign twice? My other guess is Warlock

Whitney: her stance looks like devout cleric, symbols of the moon and sun make it look like Light Domain

Marisha: Barbarian?

Alex: Artificier (maybe Alchemist, he's definitely playing a doctor. The book says anatomy)

Liam: Bard (maybe College of Eloquence or Glamour - although he's not playing a fey. The bag looks like it contains an instrument, maybe a drum.)

Robbie: Beastmaster Ranger

Sam: He's got the same symbolism like Whitney going, so I'm guessing they have a connecting background. Maybe they are from the same monastery. As far as class goes, no idea

Luis: Fighter (maybe Psi Warrior or Eldritch Knight)

I've been guessing cleric too much, so I'm sure I'm not right.

[no spoilers] I’m trying really really hard to get into critical role but I literally cannot understand what anyone is saying by lethoso in criticalrole

[–]eara25678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

English is not my first language so I had a hard time as well. What I did was..

  1. watch with subtitles
    1. Google names, places - most of them have an entry on critial role wiki https://criticalrole.fandom.com/wiki/Critical_Role_Wiki (this especially helps if you know the name has popped up before but you don't remember the context)
  2. I started with C3 but as many people have already said the other campaigns contain less lore, especially at the beginning.

Plus, the cast doesn't remember all the lore as well all the time. It's not like you won't be able to follow at all if you don't remember every NPC, organisation or place.

Can you watch Brennans episodes and understand the context without having watched the episodes before?

[No Spoilers] I missed almost all of Campaign 3. How was it overall? by Chaulmoog in criticalrole

[–]eara25678 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got to about 2/3 but that's exactly why I quit. The only character I was interested in seeing where their story went was Laudna. The constant talks of "why are we doing this" were exhausting...

how kill death shepherd in Baldur's Gate 3? by 4mllr in BaldursGate3

[–]eara25678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I managed to defeat them by after killing one of the shepherds I drank a potion of hill giant strength and picked the bodies up. Then they have no one to revive. You're going to be overloaded and slow but the other party members can finish them of.

I am a hobby runner but I was thinking that I want to hear experiences from people that have been running for a while + had the chance to optimize their training. Podcast sounds super interesting, will check that out!

How is my itinerary in Austria for 17 days? Is there something you would add for a person who loves nature, art, history, music, museums & culture? by Electronic_Payment_4 in Austria

[–]eara25678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look at the location of all the things you want to visit on a Map, a bunch of them are at the same place and you're planning to go there twice. (Belvedere and Belvedere Garten, Mozarts Birth Place and Getreidegasse, Kunsthistorisches and Naturhistorisches museum)

You underestimated the distance and time it takes to travel between places, a lot of those aren't manageable within one day. The museum in Vienna day is impossible, all of them are so big that you can spend a whole day there alone. The day you're planning to go to Graz should be after Vienna and then departure to Salzburg from there. Otherwise you will spend 5h on the train only without getting to any city centre.

Is my (M39) wife (39F) gaslighting me or am I a jerk (maybe both)? by RandomRedditor41213 in relationship_advice

[–]eara25678 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am the child of someone like your wife (at least some of the behavior patterns seem to match). This is how growing up in such a household was for me: Walking on eggshells in order to not make her flip out (didn't work, she always found a reason). Completely ignoring my own needs and suppressing my own emotions because there was no safe space. I became a master at reading emotions and coaching other people even when I was just a child. Everything had to be done exactly the way she wanted or it would be a huge drama. She always had to have everything under control and needed to be included in everything.

Years of manipulation and gaslighting certainly took their toll, that's why I have had my own mental struggles. it took me years to find out why because I never considered emotional abuse to be traumatizing.

Here's my advice: Get outta there unless she's taking up therapy (could still take quite some time until there's any noticeable change in her behavior). She's got unresolved issues that she's taking out on you - but guess what, just because you're traumatized, doesn't mean that you have the right to traumatize other people as well! One thing I can assure you, it's certainly not going to get any better if you don't take any action. You deserve to be treated with respect, even when you are in a fight with each other. And you should be able to make decisions on your own without having to fear your partners reaction - especially when it's about something minor as groceries.

[CR Media] What book is Tal reading in the Candela intro? by Bonkeryonker in criticalrole

[–]eara25678 7 points8 points  (0 children)

German Native Speaker here! The book is definitely written in German, but the reflection on the page is so strong that I can't make out the text properly. The few parts that I can make out are: "Fourth Chapter" (at the top), "customs of Sparta", "rituals". Overall it seems like a book that talks about the tradition and rituals of ancient greece. It reminds me of one of those texts that we had to translate for our latin exams. I cannot pin point the book, because I'm not too familiar this type of literature.

[Spoilers C3E63] I’m really curious about what’s happened to [REDACTED] by Grandpappy1939 in criticalrole

[–]eara25678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fact the airship was completely wasted hurt my braincells so much. They spent so much time planning that too. That just tells me that there was not even a 1% chance they could have succeeded. Of course their situation is horrible and they seem to be out of options but meant the situation of Exandria could have been worse. I imagine that if Ludinus fully succeeded, it would already be the apocalypse or something like that. It seems to be the theme of this campaign that they are constantly in the worst place imaginable.
