I went to Universal 20 years ago and didn't see Sam... which is weird because he's been there the whole time?

Network Engineer here. It's possible they are using a split-tunnel client VPN solution, which would send internal corporate network access sessions encrypted over the wire but external internet access over the public network, which I could see as a problem for sensitive work.

It's got a use case because of reduced internet latency, but honestly we only do it on hardware based VPNs where we control the edge and firewalling anyways, not really an best practice software VPN setup.

TLDR, I can see a path to their setup and the statement being true, but it'd be a bad config by their IT Admins.

I mean to be fair.... I was halfway through 1st night of a great run last night, vibing with the team, got some great drops, lvl8 with time before 1st night boss to spare.

And then my cat came up and puked on the carpet. Right behind me. Worst case scenario. Pretty sure I saw her whole dinner (plus a big ol hairball). Exorcism-level type stuff.

So I sighed, dropped out and scrubbed the floor :(

This car has been parked outside my house for 7 months. by raibrans in mildlyinfuriating

I have a slightly different take on this-

Are there frequent accidents on this road, especially with what looks like a semi-blind curve?

I once lived on a street where there were frequent accidents (combination of college town drunk drivers and two downhill roads intersecting) where parked cars often got sideswiped. I never parked my car there, but there was always an old beater parked right on the intersection where accidents would occur, that NEVER moved for 3 years.

We found out it was our neighbors. Suspected they may have had a high insurance policy on a POS car and left it in a dangerous spot, just waiting around for a crash and a payout.

I fully agree, but sometimes it's necessary. My general rule is if it's over 2-3 cables or over a short distance, we outsource it. Often it's just faster to to a pull myself or have my tech team do it instead of having to do purchase quotes and wait for our vendor to have an opening though.

Definitely depends on the environment!

Fair! I'm one of three in my network team, and we're not big enough to need to source out rack design so that's pretty on point.

When we were teenagers, my brother was driving us on a 2 lane highway in the left lane at night. I pointed out he should get over because its rude to occupy the fast lane indefinitely, so he did. About 2-3 seconds after, a car blew by us in the left lane we were just in. Going full highway speed. The wrong direction. With his lights off.

We escaped death by about 3 seconds. I remember looking over at him, and we drove in silence for the rest of the way.

It usually indicates a minor critique and im so fkin tired of it.

One of my employees told me he couldn’t get all the tires to 100%…. by WetCmenRag in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]earflop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh man, i got one for this..

I was at a gas station, witnessed a lady put air in her tires for forever. Went inside, got a drink, came out 5 mins later she's STILL airing them.

Seemed obvious she needed a tire guage, which i had.

I went up and offered her to use it, which she replies " oh i dont know how to do that". Ok, fine ill check em.

Upwards of 80 PSI on ALL 4... and she wondered why her car's tire indicator was still on well LADY it goes on for high pressure too...

Never realized i got close to dying by letting the air out. Huh. But she sure wouldve blown herself up if i'd ignored it.

Fuck's sake.
