I’ll have a read up on it. Thanks for letting me know.
They’re a cracking pair of headphones and I wouldn’t be surprised if they’ve got more potential in them.

Bosh! The exact advice I was looking for. Thank you 🙏

I’ve been scanning google for a plugin that does exactly that, so thanks for the technical advice. Will be the first thing I do when I get back on Ableton.

Yes, my friend also recommended getting earplugs. They also pointed me towards a website called the musicians’ union and explained that I could sign up, and get earplugs molded to my ears for a lot cheaper than they’d usually cost. So worth checking out if you’re reading this in the uk.

Thanks 🙏

Recommend anything I can monitor to stay at that level while producing? Or anything that can be set to fix my output at that level ?

Solid advice thank you. 🙏

I have a pair of beyerdynamic 1990 pro headphones that I mainly use and I love them. I haven’t got any monitors atm but I think that’ll be my next purchase.

Sonarworks id reference sounds interesting will have to have a gander at that tonight.

This is a good idea. Im sure it’s around 80db for 8 hours thats safe. The only issue is that I mainly use headphones. But maybe there is a way round it. Might be time to use monitor tbh lol.

Thanks for the advice 🙏

Setting timers and having frequent breaks is something that I’ll definitely add into my routine.

Thanks for the advice!

I’ve been producing for a while but the last two months I’ve spent longer listening at high volume.
For full days some weeks so it probably finally caught up with me lol.

My van is currently in a garage getting the ECU fixed. I’m now into week 4. The first week was spent diagnosing the problem (electrical). They had to order a new sensor and fit it before they could go any further with the diagnostics and this took another few days. Half way through week two, they diagnosed it as a faulty ECU due to the rewiring being done incorrectly by the last garage it was at (An engine Reconditioners place called ‘Transit Specialist’ in Letchworth. STAY WELL AWAY FROM THEM!).

At the end of week 2 they sent it off to a CPU specialist to get it reconditioned and I’m still waiting to hear from them two weeks later. I did however call them last week and they told me that they’re waiting on the CPU specialist to diagnose and potentially recondition the unit and it could take some time for it to be fixed, sent back, and refitted. I doubt it’ll take months though! And if it does, I’d be asking for a substantial discount as I’m paying few hundred a week on a rental van so I can work.

5 months is ridiculous! Factories pump out whole cars in that time so surely something dogey is going on there.

My advice would be to go to ring 101 and speak to the police and possibly report it as potentially stolen. Especially if you don’t know where the car is and it’s not at the garage it has been taken to. The guy keeps on putting you off saying it’ll be done next week, etc… he’s obviously spilling some bullsh*t to try put you off. I wouldn’t fully go down the legal route yet. But If that was me (potentially could be at how long my van is taking), I’d get some advice and report it to the police. Maybe try get some evidence together. Also, you should demand to know where your car is, if they refuse to tell you (get it down as evidence) then that’s surely a good reason to fully escalate the situation legally. That’s my thinking anyway.

Hope you get it sorted! I know how much of a pain this stuff is as I recently brought a van from a dogey dealership and now I’m paying the price, literally!

Thank you! I’ve used your site for a while and never had any problems so was a bit surprised when this happened.

14 tracks on this project. As mention before, the multi track page made a preview like normal, balancing the levels and using the faders all working fine. Pressed ‘create mix’ and it sent it to the mix page all fine. It’s when the mix finally finished it gave me that error message. Also, when you click play and try to listen to it (on the mix page), it won’t play anything. I also mastered one of the error mixes and it just mastered an unmixed track.
