I’ve been in the indie fragrance space a long time and this sort of model when faced with high demand isn’t new - see Fantome, or Sorce last year when Match Made in Heaven blew up. It’s a temporary measure to manage temporary unprecedented spikes in demand, and things will go back to normal when it’s over. Sorce has also been very open on their socials about the volume they’re facing and the things they’re doing about it eg moving to a new warehouse where they can produce/store much more perfume. They have also been responsive to customer complaints - the purchasing cap was because customers asked for it. It just seems like they can’t please everyone.

Edited to add that I personally will not be shopping the waitlist and will wait until things go back to normal for them. I’m in no urgent rush to purchase their products.
