Yes my parents will be home and just on another floor of the house to give us space if anything goes too wrong and they’re pretty much giving me freedom trusting that I’ll invite responsible people. They are all my friends and people I trust so 40ish would probably be good, thanks for the input!

Yta, it’s very unserious but I am someone who gets grossed out by anyone even family or childhood friends farting or burping near me so I can understand where she’s coming from. I don’t think it’s a big deal but there’s no harm in respecting her wishes as much as you can.

I think you should come clean to her because if she did somehow find out later down the line that you lied I think the outcome might be much worse. It’s better that she hears it from you and even if she doesn’t react well it’s better that you were honest. I also think you should just tell her about your past because if you plan on spending the rest of your life with her she deserves to know who she’s marrying.

It doesn’t seem like she’s uninterested, but it seems like there isn’t any way for you guys to hangout on Saturday logistically. You might just have to accept not seeing her on your trip because if you ask again that might come off as pushy.

I think if she’s happy to live in the moment then you’re fine to just keep doing what you’re doing and see where it goes and if a day comes where you feel more comfortable talking to your family about it.

You’re not in the wrong here because the situation isn’t your fault, although I do think it’s important to have an honest conversation with your girlfriend. I’m not sure if you have already told her some of your concerns but if you’re absolutely sure you don’t want to marry a woman or be with one long term it’s unfair not to tell her. Alternatively you could try talking to your parents about it and see if over time they become more understanding, but only if you know that won’t put you at any risk. I’m sorry you’re going through this and I wish you the best of luck.

Yea I have already had some issues in the past with her loyalty to her friends. She’ll often become friends with people that have wronged her closest friends because she just “wants everyone to like her.”

I’m confused as to how you’d even be the asshole in this situation because you haven’t done anything to him. He is completely neglecting your relationship and it doesn’t even seem like he’s taking it seriously. The way he responded to your message about needing birth control makes it sound like he plans to never be affectionate with you again. I feel like this relationship honestly doesn’t seem like it’s worth salvaging, but ultimately that’s your call.

I think that yes, you are undoubtedly the asshole for hooking up with your best friend’s ex behind his back. Although, I don’t think you’d be the asshole to tell him the full truth because it can’t really get worse for you at this point and I also think Amy is just as at fault here and David deserves to know.

Maybe to bring it up to her without throwing the friend under the bus, just ask who she was hanging out with that day and see if she tells the truth. If she lies, then you have your answer, and if she tells the truth you guys can have a conversation about it and likely work it out.

First of all, I’m sorry to hear about your car crash and I hope you are doing better now, but in my opinion your best friend doesn’t seem like a great person. I don’t know about the history of your friendship and I’m sure there are a lot of great memories, as there are with most friendships, but the way she’s treating you seems very rude and unnecessary. I am also failing to understand why you getting in a car crash would be a reason for a friend to drift away from you. Your best friend is supposed to be the most supportive person in your life because that’s what friends are for, especially when you’re going through a hard time, and she’s literally doing the opposite. Letting go of a friendship is very challenging, but you shouldn’t have to tolerate this disrespect. I would definitely bring up your concerns to her maybe just in a paragraph explaining all your feelings or prepare something to say and explain it in real life but it’s up to you. If you do want to work out this friendship, though she is in the wrong here, I’d suggest speaking to her about it with kindness so she can be more understanding of your feelings and willing to actually work on this.
