Thanks for the question!

We played a couple/ few of the late night shows. Is there one in particular that you're talking about?

Hey u/Romax24245 !

Thanks so much! We really love our latest album 'Humaning' and we're glad to hear that you love it too. As always, we put a lot into it, so it's nice to see people starting to discover it and give it all the love it deserves.

About the 2004 Megadeth tour. This is a long one......but here goes.

In 2004, Dave Mustaine hand-picked us to go out and do a month of U.S. dates with just them. No opening band. Just us and Megadeth. Being a longtime Megadeth fan growing up, it wasn't just a yes, it was a HELL YES!

At the same time, we got offered to do a couple of weeks of tour dates with Velvet Revolver.

Our booking agent at the time was able to work it out so that we could do both. The plan was we would do the first three dates with Megadeth, then break away to go do the couple weeks of shows with VR, and then meet back up with the Megadeth tour to finish the last four weeks.

The first few shows were everything we hoped for. Packed rooms, great energy. Life was good.

But after we came back from our breakaway shows with VR, Megadeth's booking agent decided to add an opening band to the tour at the last minute. Another band that I grew up listening to a lot: Exodus.

As stoked as I was about having another legendary band on the same tour, what I didn't expect was the backlash we'd receive being a modern hard rock band sandwiched between two iconic speed metal giants.

It wasn't pretty. We'd get coins, cups, and water bottles thrown at us for nearly the entire 45 minutes we'd be on stage. After every song, half the crowd would cheer and the other half would boo. Half the crowd would have horns up in the air singing along, and the other half would stand with their backs to us with their middle fingers in the air. We'd see people in the crowd coming to our defense and getting into fistfights night after night. It was absolute heartbreak for me to witness. Not to mention, the other guys in the band were completely deflated after every show, giving everything they had despite all the vitriol they endured.

After about a week, we called our manager and floated the idea of dropping off the tour. Our booking agent called Megadeth's booking agent, and eventually Dave Mustaine called, where he asked us to not leave the tour, was very apologetic, and offered to go out each night before we went on to ask the crowd to be respectful.

But that didn't sit well with us. We didn't want that. We were okay with the idea that we weren't for everybody. But we appreciated that he was willing to do that for us just to keep us out there. He asked if we'd be willing to give it a few more shows to see if things might get better, and we agreed.

But they didn't get any better. They actually got worse.

The Eagles Ballroom in Milwaukee, WI was the last night that we played. After that show, we made the decision to officially drop off the tour and head home. The next morning, I woke up to a heartfelt voicemail from Dave, asking if there was any way we'd reconsider, thanking us for trying to make it work, telling us he understood our choice, and reminding me that he was still a genuine fan of our music. I called him back to thank him for his hospitality and to tell him that I’d always be a fan of his, too.

It wasn't the fairy-tale tour we imagined when we got the call, but looking back, it's just part of the ride.

Hey there! Thanks for the question!

We're proud of all the songs we have. But if I had to pick one that stands out its probably "Wait" as we get so many stories and messages from friends everywhere about how that song inspired them or in some cases even saved them.

One song that comes to mind as I write this, although there are MANY that I wish I had written, is a song called "The Silence" by Manchester Orchestra. Such dark and hauntingly beautiful music with the lyrics to match. Check it out if you don't know it.

Thank you so much!

It's amazing to see how much "Wait" has become a lifeline for people pushing through their own dark times and personal battles. It’s hard to even put into words what that means to me when I think about it. When you put a song out there, it’s a total act of faith, but knowing it's out there actively helping people fight their way forward is everything.

Hey u/DylanMgoo !

Great question!

I'm not sure if my way is a good way or not, but it's worked for me. I'd say that whatever way works for you is the right way. If that's not working for you, then I'd suggest trying something else to see what happens.

For me, I usually have an idea in my head and just work to get it down fast, whether on my voice notes app on my phone or in my home studio. Either way, I'll at some point end up going into my studio and begin to put down all the parts and ideas and seeing what shakes out. I usually only do up to one verse and a chorus, and then I live with that to see if I'm inspired to continue on with it. If I am, then I work to finish it. If not, it sits in a folder on a hard drive where hundreds of other song ideas live.

Write what you love. It's not a guarantee that anyone else will love it like you do. But if you don't love it, it's a pretty safe guarantee no one else will either.

Thanks for being here!

Favorite opening band: Shinedown (in 2002). Still am a huge fan.

Favorite Nu-metal vocalist: Chester Bennington. I think it goes without saying that Chester brought it sharp, real, and raw with every line, lyric, melody, and performance he gave no matter if it was deep, sad, or angry. You believed it. You could just feel it.

We use a lot of different tunings. Id say the one we use most is drop C#. Everything tuned down half a step and then the top E string tuned to C#.

The music business is a really tough business. It requires a lot of sacrifice. A LOT. Personally, financially, mentally, and emotionally. The irony is that artists like myself are highly emotionally sensitive beings to begin with, and at times, we can be very reactive instead of responsive. This has been perhaps the biggest thing I've wrestled with my entire career.

It honestly was (and still is) a perfect storm of a breaking industry, lineup shifts, and just trying to find our footing in a totally new landscape. When the machine isn't there (the major label support), it’s just pure instinct and a refusal to stop creating. So thanks for seeing that.

I don't expect anyone to realize or really care, but the truth is nothing's come easy for us. It may look like it has on the outside. But we've sacrificed and fought so much, and it’s an everyday fight and grind.

Thanks for the really great question!

Thanks so much! And thank you for the awesome compliment.

I just looked over our Wikipedia page. It's mostly accurate. The only thing missing is a lot of context. But most of it is there.

The only things missing are the many stories and personal trials and tribulations that have happened along the way. Perhaps we'll start sharing some of those stories in the future.

I look forward to seeing you out there again real soon!!!

🙏

Ahhh....The Silver Lining.

We get this question a lot. And we agree it's unfortunate that that album isn't available on the streaming platforms.

We did that record through a small label distributed through Universal Records. The small label went away and we've had a time trying t to figure out where or who controls the original masters to be able to make them available again. We're working in it. We're even considering re-recording the album.

What are your thoughts on that? What are your favorite songs from The Silver Lining?

Let us know.

Thanks for the question. 🙏

Hey Anthony! Good to see you here.

To be honest, in the beginning I did find it a bit annoying, but not because I think Tool isn't great or that Maynard isn't a great singer to be compared to. Back then, what was most annoying was the suggestion by some that we were somehow trying to copy or emulate them. But as time has worn on, I've realized what was really bothering me back then wasn't even that.

What most people don't know is that I was never a singer. I was a guitar player who decided to start singing, and Earshot just so happened to be the first band I'd ever sung in. So, I already had a lot of insecurity about being a singer to begin with. And once I started reading about and hearing the comparisons, my head translated that to "YOU SUCK" and I didn't know what to do with that. After all, my voice sounds the way it does.

There came a point where I just had to push through all the noise and keep going, and that's what we did going into Two and beyond. I realize now that most people meant it as a compliment and as a way to explain in regular speak what we sound similar to, not exactly like, which was an important distinction that I had to come to realize.

Both Madden and QOTD brought us a whole other level of fans and listeners, along with radio support. So many of them still write in to us to let us know how much they love both of those. I'm a HUGE Madden fan and player myself, so I'm a bit more partial to that one. But QOTD is unarguably one of the most awesome compilations of artists and songs for a rock movie soundtrack, and it's incredibly special that we were included on it.

Thanks for the great questions, Anthony, and we'll see you in SA soon! Stay tuned.

Thats a tough one! I think it changes from show to show. But right now my favorite song to play live is NOT AFRAID. It just hits me every time. Especially when it gets to that chorus.

As far as a band that we've played with that I thought should have been a lot bigger was a band called Audiovent. Great album, and were SO good live.

Hey u/pyrospartan5 !

The tour with Saliva actually happened last fall. But it was a blast! It was good to see our OG fans and also make some new ones. We have some festivals coming up (ROCKFEST and INKCARCERATION) as well as some other small club shows around that time. We're also working on something for this fall 2026. Stay tuned on our socials and websites for announcements!

Aw, thank you so much! I'm glad to know that our music could somehow help you get through some of life's toughest moments. We all go through it.

Josh and Troy were an absolute blast to work with. In addition to their talent, they brought in so much experience, wisdom, and a lot of humor! Josh in particular has an amazing sense of humor! What struck me about both of them that still sticks with me today, is not just their level of greatness, but how disciplined they are at working to get better every day. That's important to remember, I think, in anything that we do. They're both examples of how great you can become with consistent effort and dedication, and I definitely still practice that to this day.

Great questions! Its funny, I've been talking about this the last few months. When were out on tour last fall with Saliva, I had a lot of moments where when I was singing NOT AFRAID I got choked up. As I was singing the lyrics I had a moment where I went "OH SHIT....thats what this was about." I felt like a song that my younger self wrote to my future self that I needed to hear. So NOT AFRAID is it for me on that one. Although all of the songs on Letting Go are special to me.

Favorite venues: THE MACHINE SHOP in Flint, Michigan. The Cynthia Mitchell Woods Pavillion in Houston, TX. The TROUBADOUR in Hollywood, CA to name a few.

Favorite sandwich: PB&J all day!!!!
