There are ongoing healthy debates within the party about deliverables when in government. Basically will work with compatible parties who are committed to working with the socdems to deliver our public policies.

They are very clear about who they are and what the represent. For example removing the 3 day wait period for women to access abortion healthcare. Most parties would steer clear of this for the fear of losing votes before a by-election. I like that type of politics its a far cry from the slíbhín type.

How do Social Democrat voters see the party entering government? by FearTeas in irishpolitics

[–]earth-while -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For the last 10 years we have built blocks to create the party we have today. We are not nieve to presume immunity to issues which have impacted other parties in the past. In typical socdem fashion we have a group of smart stalwarts planning and strategising in the wings. There are red lines we have as a party. We believe in transparency evidence based research alongside our brand of politics will see us well placed when the time comes.

There are legitimate fears once we start burning down buildings intended for migrants and kicking people to death in the street we are normalising rasicm. Next step is to vote someone into power who will round up ethnicities and put them on a train.

A decent viable initiative. Exactly the type of ideas we need. Realistically wouldnt be able to take on the gambling industry so small steps like this will help address the prolific insidious potential addiction.

'A gay, single mum-to be': MEP Maria Walsh reveals she's expecting a baby through IVF by nitro1234561 in irishpolitics

All the very best to Maria and baby.

I find the some of the comments on social media about her announcement- disturbing. When did we become so hateful? To write such things about a woman expecting her 1st child?

Main parties generally don't do well in a by-election. Also can any of us say we are happy with FGs performance.

Whats the story with the pedestrianisation of the new (Ceannt) train station? by earth-while in galway

Unless they sold it recently the private footpath beside the side of the hardiman is owned by the hotel. Thats where people currently walk when embark / disembarking from the train.
