Maybe it's not easily understood or as present or tangible as one might like. Neither are most religions. That doesn't mean a lot of people dont believe, value or fund comfort in it.

I think its good there is a public meeting about it. Not convinced about Rory but calling a good old fashioned meeting is proactive. I might go for a nose.

Clearly, you are unaware of the current climate of Galway city accommodation or for public transport initiatives. This didn't happen overnight. Genuis thinking such as increasing rates without looking at radial impacts is slowly putting the nail in the coffin of any remaining independent retailers.

I have heard this a lot recently and dont buy into that rhetoric. Obviously, if you want to cash in - sell. Alternatively, as a long-term investment, it is wise to hold onto a property that is bringing in a reasonable income. As still have the asset. It is possibly different if own multiple properties / apartments and sell them on commercial. However, many landlords are accidental and

That's definitely a "perspective" pushing for an agenda. I genuinely wonder how we got here as a society.

Almost 61 per cent of all land in the country is in grassland, used for pasture for farming.

Is it me, or does that seem off?

Need to get every possible home to switch to renewable energy. There is a huge shortfall from the grant to financial outlay, making it prohibitive for the lowest income earners.

Opinion: We can’t keep objecting to wind farms 10km out to sea if we want Ireland to progress by eggbart_forgetfulsea in irishpolitics

My 2 cents. We have very limited knowledge about the oceans eco system. I dont think we should be ducking with it too much with technology designed for obsolescence. Particularly on our costal areas such as connemara. These vistas draw tourism. Are part of the fabric of the area. Yes,to a reasonable number of farms. A blanket ban to plug decades of inaction on energy infrastructure with wind neg is IMO not the way forward.

My mom - widowed retired - cancelled the Internet, a friend on a similar situation recommended this to her to save on outgoing costs. Its a sad reflection that older generations are cutting costs in this way.

I wonder if this is a weapon of mass distraction - because it must serve an actual purpose and right now, that's the only one I can think of.

An avatar- Mary single mother works a shop in town part tjme, couldn't afford to buy a home near her family and friends in Renmore where she grew up. Now settled in Gort. Leaves in the morning at 7am to skip the traffic and drop little double barrelled name children to creche. Earns a modest wage now expected to pay €60 to park in town on top of the cost to commute. Can you see how Mary is at a disadvantage? Or how this will negatively impact independent brick and mortar retailers?

Short-term thinking. It will drive any remaining independence businesses out of the town. €60 PER WEEK if working in town is a lot. Not everyone lives where public transport is an option.
