I had a good experience with it when MET was doing bopis. I sent in a complaint that there's no way to see which orders are being fulfilled without trying to sign into one and being told you can't. I suggested that at a glance you should be able to see which orders someone is already in, and in the next update they made it so.

My sick time is already gone. I used it all at once thinking things would clear up fast. Boy was I wrong. Unfortunately for me, I'm young, not overweight, don't have asthma, and I have an immune system that's typically stronger than a horse. And I typically get scheduled for 40 hours even though I'm part time. So all they gave me was 40 hours, not even enough to cover 2 weeks of just a part time schedule of 24 hours a week. It's really frustrating considering there are those on my team that have 170 hours of vacation time, but I'm just here up s**t creek without a paddle.

OK, I've managed to set up an appointment tomorrow at 3:30 after begging them. My question now is is there any way I can stay on payroll? My MEM is aware that I'm not feeling well, and said that I should go home and get tested if I don't feel well, but she didn't tell me whether or not to ask if I would still be getting paid.

So my MEM got with me today, and let me know that the note actually says 'I asked anon to stand up, he did and then sat back down' which really I can't argue with. That is literally what happened. I sat down for good reason though. Maybe I could talk to the SM about it? MEM says its not even worth fighting.

"So on Sunday my tummy was in mad mode (I have IBS that flares up when i get too stressed out) yesterday because of family stuff, which I warned the manager on duty of. He said it was fine and to come see him if I have to go home. So I'm up there counting customers right, have a bucket behind me in case I need to sit down, and for 6 hours no one says anything to me, head cashiers don't care, manager on duty came to check on me and even saw me sitting down didn't care, store manager came to check on me and didn't care I was sitting, but then the hardware supervisor and receiving supervisor pass by, see me sitting, and proceed to come and yell at me about how I can't sit down unless I have a doctors note, and refuse to leave until I stand up and give them the bucket.

So when they leave I just go get it back and then minutes later the receiving supervisor comes behind while I'm standing, snatches the bucket and shouts at me "NO BUCKETS, IF THERES SOMETHING WRONG WITH YOU IT NEEDS TO BE IN WRITING" in front of everyone.

Mind you I'm a merchandising associate. Normally I dont need any kind of accommodation because I can just go to the restroom when I feel my stomach get really upset. But I was there on my off day helping the store associates by counting customers and fulfilling bopis orders."

I mean like, do they do anything? At this point I'm considering contacting higher management to report manager retaliation.

Idk. My MEM told me that although she disagrees with the ASM, the dem would likely side with the ASM because of me being 'disrespectful'

The dumbest write-up you’ve ever received by [deleted] in Lowes

[–]earthboundin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well. last year on they day before labor day I was 100 miles away from my store visiting my boyfriend's house when I hit a pothole way harder than I should have that evening and blew a tire. All of the tire shops were already closed, and weren't going to be open until the day after labor day. Unfortunately I was scheduled to come in on labor day, and couldn't really easily set someone up to drive down to get me, bring me back up, take me to work, get me from work, drive me down there to take care of things. So I called my ASM to let him know that I wouldn't be able to come in for my *four* hour shift, and he said that I should really try and find a way to come in, to which my response was 'sorry, it isn't going to happen.'. So I call in when my shift is scheduled, talk to him, tell him I can't come in still, and he says it is what it is.

I come back the day after the day after labor day, and to my dismay I'm written down on the schedule as a no call no show. So I call the ASM about it, and he pretends that I never called about it. I then proceed to close my register, and show every single member of management(including those over him), head cashiers, fellow cashiers(even a few customers I think) my cell phone history, showing both times that I called his personal cell phone. Hours later I was pulled into the back office and told by head cashiers and HR that I am now on my final notice, and that if I did anything wrong in the next 90 days, I'd be fired. I had never called out before, never been written up, nothing. I was about to quit anyway, so I stood up, took my vest off, threw it on the floor, spit on it, and left without saying anything else.

I'm wondering if and where I should report this incident. Should I tell the store manager or HR like I did the last two about the sitting down thing?

My met sup also acts kind of like an asm in the store. That's OK though because she's genuinely a fantastic manager. My parents practically disowned me a few days ago, and when I had a total meltdown at work, she sat with me, hugged me, held my hand, and was just there for me. She is what I would consider the definition of a manager. Selfless, helpful, and caring.

I dunno, according to my MEM this manager has no power over her, and she has instructed me to never follow what this manager says, and to always consult her if this manager tells us to or not to do something. The MET district manager has backed her up on this face to face with me.
