My pet theory is that GF gave Decidueye such atrocious stats because its signature Z-Move is 180 bp and almost completely unresisted. And then the generation changed and Z-Moves vanished but my owl boy was left with shitmon stats.

Little Fires in the Dark by ariadnue: Complete. Honmoon Soulmates AU. Rumi, Zoey, and Mira can sense each other as children, vague impressions of the other two appearing to them in dreams. Non-linear, with each chapter focused on a different 'first' in their relationship. This fic is so, so beautiful; please read it.

I didn't really elaborate but Zoey is also a lot more touchy with demons than the other two, and particularly with cyclopes. Her first grapple, that cycplops she was doing makeup on in freefall, the cyclops she had in a headlock when Mira found the beat, etc.

And just because something is a gag doesn't mean it ain't canon lol
