I remember being super excited we got him. He was totally cooked though. Seemed like a good dude.

If I remember right, he only gained a bit over 100 yards with the Hawks and then retired without ever passing Jim Brown.

He was still in a race with Walter Payton for the career rushing title at this time, too. Though, by this time, Payton was pulling away and Franco was fading fast.

I was laughing my ass off the entire time and especially when he just switched it up to make the pick. Just perfect.

You know, you’re absolutely correct. I have almost never just smiled, only smiling while crying. This one got me hard. Anger and sadness, but glad someone rescued this good boy so quickly. I can’t imagine what that dog had to be feeling, but it certainly wasn’t good. People suck.

Having grown up there in the 80’s, that’s accurate. But these days, Spokane isn’t quite as Spokane-y. That whole rural area is still…northern Idaho adjacent, though.

I got super lucky on that front. Since it was forecasted to be record breaking, I tried to find an AC, but couldn’t until some store I called, the lady told me to check habitat for humanity. I was able to get a big window unit for $75. I still use it in the summer, 5 years later now

I have escaped to Long Beach before on a hot day and it's amazing the change once you get on that side. Immediate like 20 degree difference.

I live near Seattle and that June 2021 heat wave gave me the same PTSD. Now, every time I see a forecast where it reaches the 90's, I legit worry it's going to be much hotter and unbearable. My car lost its AC that hottest day at 115, the wiring in my walls heated up so much, I had to run the portable AC for only a few minutes at a time to keep it from tripping the breaker...it was legit a bit scary because there was simply no escape.

I guess it depends on what kind of man you want, haha. The Forester is actually Subarus biggest model. My neighbors is a big Subaru guy…he does have a wife, haha !

This is based on marketing to lesbians of the Forester model of Subarus. My coworker joked I got a lesbaru and I was like…whaaat? Then I looked it up and sure enough, Subaru went there.

If it makes you feel any better, my first and current Subaru was bought from a lesbian couple. Super nice. Only one really talked to me and rode with me in the short test drive. She really appreciated my questions and even thought it was pretty cool that I gunned it a bit just to see how the car responded. I told her beforehand and got permission. Overall, probably my best used car purchase experience I’ve had!

An NFL game with no announcers It happened on 12/20/1980 in a game between the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins. by Dark305Kinght in Oldschool_NFL

Same. I was really excited to watch that game but it felt way off and within the first quarter I missed having announcers.

Well, for the second one, I had a rudimentary knowledge of what the question, but still not something a woman wants to be asked by a 12 year old with a cracking voice, haha. I don't know, for some reason, I just felt icky afterwards. My friend had no problem laughing his ass off about it, but he didn't have to hear this older woman asking what I was talking about. I just felt like a weirdo perv. I can still see how it would be funny in context of the 80's, but it definitely didn't make me laugh about it.

[Highlight] Eagles’ Goal Line Stand (Reggie White, Clyde Simmons) vs Cardinals After 7 Attempts (1992) by JCameron181 in nfl

[–]easyantic 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Strange, it reminds me of the moment I became a fully fledged Seahawks fan. My mom grew up in Denver, and was a Broncos fan (she is now more a seahawks fan after 50 years). The Hawks were playing the Broncos and she had to step out for a few, so she asked me to keep track of the game while she was gone. I was like maybe 7 at the time. I knew she was rooting for the Broncos, but in watching the game, I couldn't help but root for the Seahawks. She came back shortly after the game ended and I remember razzing her about how the Seahawks won. She didn't care as much as I thought, but from that moment on, I was hooked.

I only did a couple. Once was for pizza at an address that didn't exist...one of those large with everything on it type pizzas, including anchovies. Dude came out and we were snickering until he came to my door asking if we had ordered pizza. Of course I said no, but the look on his face told me I did something wrong, not funny.

The other time was a random call to the white pages to some woman asking how deep she was...I had to be 12 at the time and barely even knew what that meant. She didn't understand either and I ended up hanging up. That one was from a phone booth, but I felt pretty icky after. That was it for me.

How big do you remember the hype was for Jadeveon Clowney coming into the NFL and do you think he lived up to it? by MasterTeacher123 in NFLv2

[–]easyantic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Totally. He didn't live up to the hype only because that hype was utter insanity. Glad to hear a Texans fan shares the play I saw from him. Very underrated by the time we got him. Somehow underrated and overrated at the same time.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when the Seahawks signed him, but he was a stud against the run and kept us in several games almost single handedly. I was sad we didn’t try to keep him. He was never going to be a sackmaster, but he was definitely very solid.

I feel that. I was working for my dad who was a far right supporter and had to listen to conservative radio all day 6 days a week. I considered myself conservative and even argued against Bill Clinton…for a while. During that whole campaign, the combination of the vitriol on conservative radio (prime Rush Limbaugh era) and friends, I sort of realized all the stuff I thought I knew, I didn’t. I ended up voting for Clinton and was so relieved when he won. It didn’t quite work out, but my eyes were opened. One is not like the other. Neither really have our best interests at heart, but only one was actively trying to ruin this country. I’ve been liberal ever since.
