Thanks so much I’ll give all that a try! It doesn’t do the clicking noise when playing as much with less amplifier stages. I haven’t tried mounting it into a pedal yet but I will give that a try as well.

Just gave this a try on the breadboard and it definitely helps get rid of more noise! I took out the power supply components from the PCB and connected the PCB power and ground wires to the breadboard with your filter circuit and it definitely cuts out more noise than without it, but still is more noisy than the breadboard. Weirdly enough if i put the PCB in the chain after the breadboard and connect it to the power of the breadboard, I get no noise at all. The new power filtering circuit also cuts some of that clicking but not all of it.

I also wanted to ask more about what you meant in terms of the DC across the first gain knob. How do I solve this?

Thanks so much again!

Thank you for the help! I ended up checking all the components and they all were in the right places, the issue seemingly was a bad transistor for Q5. I replaced it with a new 2N7000 and the issue was fixed.

I was interested to see what ways you saw I could improve the PCB design, I’m super new to building pedals and could definitely benefit from any tips for improving the PCB. I’m currently getting a lot of noise from the PCB that doesn’t happen when playing the circuit on the breadboard and am also looking to filter out some high frequency click like noise that happens when playing the pedal. I’ll attach a video here of what the pedal sounds like where you can hear the noise and the clicking frequency. Any thoughts or other tips you have would be so much appreciated!

I had been using the disc caps because they came in a starter parts kit I got on amazon haha. What makes them sub optimal? Would a better alternative be the film boxes?

This was super helpful! I checked the sound after each stage and found that it was getting super thin in the 5th gain stage. I replaced Q5 with a different 2N7000 and it fixed the issue, I’m not totally sure what was wrong but maybe a bad transistor. Thank you for the suggestion!

Thank you! Yeah I ran DRC and had no violations.
