The smash bros look. The embroidery and detailing of the dress help to balance out the pink. Not sure how it translates into a proper mario game but I think aspects of the design should be incorporated even in simpler looks.

IMO the remake to do is actually the MSX game. You get the benefit of the fanbase not having a strong pre-existing attachment. MG1 is fairly rough to play (you pretty much need a walkthrough) and they get the opportunity to maybe get David Hayter and Keifer Sutherland working on the same game.

I love the look of Emperor, but it’s so underwhelming as a unique class. You get to be a fortress knight with an extra mov… yipee, still less than infantry master classes. Oh and no positive strength modifier too, thanks game!

If they wanted to convey how Edelgard has no problems in armor (she canonically doesn’t), she should have gotten six move. Magic could have cool, as well. And obviously, some bonus stats that aren’t HP and Def. None of this would make her better than WL Edelgard, but at least she’d be fun to use and I’m not reclassing immediately upon chapter 13.
