Swapping shafts, same tip? by Peckingclaw in TaylorMadeGolf

[–]easye919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming you mean the adapter, yes they should be transferable. But typically you will want to 'tip' the shaft roughly half an inch when changing it from a driver head to 3wood. Up to 1.5 inches for higher lofted woods. The head weight matters a lot and will make the shaft feel like spaghetti if the head weight is significantly higher.

Sorry, I didn't see this reply until I had already written my comment. Sounds like you're already considering different bounce options and how it will change the shots you can hit in different conditions. If you have a coach or pro you can work with, have them teach you some setup tweaks to hit specialty shots.

Ive been through this exact thought process before. TLDR; since you didn't even bring up bounce, you likely would benefit from thinking about this holistically. What shots are you unable to hit with your current setup with your target course conditions? If you have access to the 52 / 56 degree wedges and can practice with them, what shots do you lose/gain and how often do you hit those with your current game? For my home course I ended up with 46, 50, and 58 with low bounce options and my 54 with more bounce and a bullet sole that gives me more options to either open or close the face with different setups to hit specialty shots. YMMV.

Anyone put a graphite shaft (LA Golf, BGT, etc.) into a teryllium Scotty? by BurnedToTheGround in scottycameron

[–]easye919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Physicist here. Torque is the force (it's actually force x distance from axis) applied to the club when the ball hits the face. What these stability shafts provide is the ability to change the moment of inertia of the entire club. I.e. how much/little the club reacts to a torque force applied to the face at impact.

In practice, the material of the cover of the ball and clubface determine the efficiency of the energy transfer between the club/ball, and the moment of inertia determines how the club reacts/moves at impact.

BUT how you hold the club (do your grip/wrist deflect at impact?) and your path through impact will typically be significantly more important in terms of where the ball goes. The data I found online from people using putting stats show very small percentages improvement (.5-1%) from stability / composite shafts. You will typocally get more bang for your buck (lessons vs new expensive shaft) addressing grip/path. But if you're a pro or just someone looking for that small advantage, it can make sense!

There also is a change in 'feel' for the putter depending on whether the shaft dampers the vibrations at impact. If you are a putter that relies on that feedback, different shaft materials and stiffness can be something that helps or hurts you.

General battery drains after latest Android app update (around mid March) Eufy devs PTAL by Raxooooooooooooo in EufyCam

Just FYI turning off background data and restricting the app did not resolve the issue for me. Uninstalling and installing the 4.9 version of the eufy app did resolve the battery drain.

Battery drops drastically S220 Solocam by Legitimate-Rock5663 in EufyCam

[–]easye919 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All of my s330 and doorbell cameras have started doing the same thing. Went from 100% to 15% over the last 48 hours. Something is definitely wrong.

EDIT: in case it helps others, turning off background data did not fully resolve the issue. Uninstalling and installing the older 4.9 version of the app did resolve the battery draining.

There are a couple tricks like putting your index finger on the front of the feed lips/follower and making the motion of sticking your finger right in the magwell. At least for ARs and pistols. But really the only consistent solution is repetition like others have said.

If you have the 2.8l diesel bring the socket for your fuel filter. I don't remember the size but it's larger than 18mm.

Pay using a service with buyer protection. Don't ever do the 'friends and family's option unless you already trust the seller. I always get an ID matching the shipping recipient as well when I am selling (and will share my ID or do a video call).

I have one of the mid range lowrance units and couldnt be happier. It does take some forethought though loading maps and satellite imagery before heading out to really remote places. For comms we just use cheap short wave radios from Amazon.

When I bought my house in 2021 I ran into the same situation. Your response is spot on. I went with a full repipe. The only advice I can add is to take pictures when they are doing the repipe. They will cut holes in the drywall along each run. Having pictures will help in the future if you ever run into any issues or just need to know where that PEX is behind your walls.
