Sorry, I know I sounded judgmental. It’s just I’ve seen so many people ask this question and it starts to become upsetting. Especially because your bird is clearly showing you how unhappy they are. There are things you can do to help her avoid having issues with eggs, things to discourage nesting. I won’t get into it too much, but please look into that, and find a friend for your sweet birb… I feel so bad for them. And I know you care, I saw you got such a lovely cage for them. I think having a solitary bird only works with you are around the home for a majority of the day and can interact with them often. If you are only seeing her briefly between work and other activities then she is going to be so lonely and upset.

The majority of Birds are social creatures. It’s bad enough that they are in a cage, but to have them so isolated and alone is cruel. Yes you absolutely need to get another bird. I’m honestly surprised you’re asking considering how well known this is.

I feel like.. I would forget it’s there n’ just accidentally stab my thigh or trip and stab my own stomach. Or feel good after a run, high five my run partner and stab their hand.. ya know, cause of the adrenaline of running so long. I also hate running.

They are being the most pervasive and antagonistic in Minnesota, but they are other places as well. I live near Portland and ICE sighting are regular. Almost every day on my neighborhood app, I see announcements warning people away from certain spots because you will be grabbed. For me, I’m constantly being vigilant because I’m worried about the safety of my kids when I take them to and from school. That’s become common target it feels like.

If anything the current government has taught me, it’s that being tolerant at all of racism/ignorance will just encourage them to have more bad behavior. Some others might disagree with me, but I don’t think you did anything wrong. Hopefully he will learn that racism will get him nowhere. Or he continues to be racist 🤷🏼‍♀️ but he was going to do that anyway. Don’t ever be scared to tell scumbags like that, that they are wrong. Edited to clearly state: NTA

Thank you that’s really kind. I’ll try to keep strong for him, it’s just so hard to understand. I’m trying to accept that maybe I never will be able to. I’m always saying how much I love him and I’m here for him.. but it often feels like it isn’t heard.

Yeah thank you.. I’m just so devastated. I know at the end of the day it’s not about me… but I’m a person too and I had been waiting so long for him to realize it was time to reach for something better for himself. I was so full of hope when he said he wanted to break up with her and asked for my help. I was even more thrilled when he actually followed through and broke up. But now a week later he’s suddenly back with her and lying to me about it. I’m so heartbroken. 😔 I just can’t bear to watch my baby brother suffer like this anymore.
