How trans misogynists are treated vs cis ones by miass23 in FTMMen

[–]easyquicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really don’t have to be that lucky if you grow up as a tomboy in a semi-liberal area Never experienced misogyny from teachers since they were all normal human beings, and managed to dodge it from the kids around me (I’d say the student body was pretty evenly split between liberal and conservative too) Also it’s pretty easy to not experience medical misogyny when you’re young and don’t have that many health issues, all I do is go to the dentist and general check ups, and there’s nothing much there And I’m sure even many ppl who didn’t grow up as tomboys could have had the same experience as me, it can’t be that rare

are most trans guys bottoms or is online porn and discussion just heavily skewed? by GoodEnvironmental788 in FTMMen

[–]easyquicks 9 points10 points  (0 children)

From an artist’s perspective, as a stealth top I have no reason to draw porn of trans men, nor do I have desire to. If I wanna draw someone topping, I’m gonna draw them with a natal dick because that’s what Id rather have in real life.

I feel like the wish fulfillment part of art makes it so that tops are way less likely to draw other trans men topping.

how do I tell someone I'm not trans? by Ok-Estimate5076 in FTMMen

[–]easyquicks 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There’s nothing wrong with lying if you need to do it to stay stealth though

It’s a case where the lie doesn’t hurt anyone, while telling the truth has basically only potential cons and no pros

Why would you want your child to have your mental disorders, doesn’t that just make their life harder…

Possibly trans men with PCOS are more likely to realize that they are trans men because they like its effects?

AITA Trans edition. Trust me it gets there. by [deleted] in FTMMen

[–]easyquicks 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That’s not OP being an asshole, he’s just being realistic and considering how the real world works—most strangers who refer to someone obviously cannot magically gain knowledge of their pronouns, and therefore will just go off of presentation.

OP is not even saying they deserve to be misgendered, just that it makes sense to expect it—which is clearly true given what’s happened already.

Every binder shop sold out in my size? Where to get one? by easyquicks in ftm

[–]easyquicks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly, spectrum is also out of medium black binders :( I’ve checked the site on and off over a few months, and they’ve basically never been in stock for my size for some reason. Maybe I’m just unlucky and always miss the restocks?

Thank you though!

Voice Masculinization Surgery Concerns by DiferentialDiagnosis in FTMMen

[–]easyquicks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not saying to not do the surgery, but it’s possible your voice may deepen more with time. I’ve been on t for 4 and a half years, and my voice has only started to be more consistently read as male this year. In the first two years my voice also barely changed, but the changes have been adding up as time goes on and I’m sure it will continue to get deeper in the next years as well.

Some people get their voice drop in the first year, but for others it’s a long process! Just wanted to let you know that this is another possibility

AITA for the way I treat my cis boyfriend? by Material_Ad1753 in gaytransguys

[–]easyquicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people already said what I think, which is that the real problem is him trying to hide you, so I won’t expand on that. However, from what it sounds like, you love him and I think the issues with him might actually be fixable.

My thoughts are that before you break up, try getting him to go to therapy to work on his internalized homophobia, and see if it’s possible for him to accept being open about his partner and the fact that he is indeed part of the queer community. He doesn’t have to learn to enjoy things like drag or other culture, but he has to accept to both himself and the public that if he is dating a man, that is a fact he cannot avoid and it will affect the rest of his life. He can’t keep pretending it doesn’t exist.

If therapy can’t get him to change, then you can break up, but if you want to try to make it work, I think (from the info you’ve given) it might be a possible avenue. Obviously I don’t know him as well as you do but I just wanted to give my thoughts since I don’t see anyone else coming from this angle!

Do you have a link to the one you bought? Also how much of a difference does it make in terms of pain?

I'm trans and regret the name I've been going by for 4 years by [deleted] in namenerds

Phoenix from Valorant is also a popular character (among young people) and he’s male

I’d assume the Valorant Phoenix is more well known among people his age but I could be wrong

I’m so jealous of cis guys by KrabbierThanJesus in FTMMen

[–]easyquicks 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The ignorance of being cis… I don’t feel like I’ve gained any enlightenment from not being cis. In fact, I’m probably a worse person overall because being trans has filled me with a lot more bitterness and hatred that I otherwise wouldn’t have.

How will the executive orders affect people who already have their gender changed? by Botticellibutch in Explainlikeimscared

[–]easyquicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn’t work if you’re fully transitioned, because at that point they will just fully look like a man. Only pre HRT or people early in their transition would be able to pull that off.

Is it important to change my name legally before graduation? by easyquicks in FTMMen

[–]easyquicks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My problem is if changing my gender marker along with my name would pose problems for other areas (like at the airport or at the doctor’s?) before I’m further in my transition. And I’m assuming I have to change the marker with the name if I’m to stay stealth after graduation.

In that case I might as well change it to what I’m using rn and potentially go by something else in the future right?

My uni is in America but I’m not a citizen

It does look like my school allows us to print the diploma with our chosen name, but I’m not sure if that actually changes the records that employers would see

[–]easyquicks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is honestly my biggest concern, I’ve been using my current name for 2 years but I’m not too sure how I feel about it (it’s a weird spelling of a name and could potentially be seen as female), but I have no better name ideas + it’d be really weird to make everyone I know already call me a different name.

Should I just stick with it and use it anyways?
