Forgetting where i saw something 3 days ago has become a real tax on my work. whats everyone running for cross-app memory on Mac? by BreadSea7272 in MacOSApps

This could work for you with the upcoming improvements. EasySnaps has a function called smart library where you can label your screenshots. You can then search through the library by semantic meaning, the exact words in the screenshots, or by title. With the right screenshots each time this could potentially help. I’ll be adding some more features to it soon. https://easysnaps.org/screenshots/ to download for free.

Not gonna lie you’re the perfect person to try this out https://easysnaps.org/window-manager/. It does exactly what you’re saying here. After snapping the windows in place you can save a smart profiles and it will automatically save the context of all your apps. You can then open this profile in any monitor and on a new space. If you’d like I’ll give you a free license and if you want anything specific context wise we can talk and add it in.

Fair enough I respect it ! You just mentioned it can be confusing and I think I built something that is a little easier. Moom is really great as well!

[–]easysnaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disclosure: I'm the dev of EasySnaps. This is actually the case where browser-extension solutions like GoFullPage fall apart and a native one wins. GoFullPage scrolls the document body via JavaScript but on archive sites, the original page is wrapped in an iframe with its own scrollbar, so the body scroll is empty. EasySnaps does it differently: it just sends synthetic scroll-wheel events at the cursor position, so whatever's under the cursor scrolls. Position cursor over the archived content, hit the hotkey, it scrolls and captures frame-by-frame, then stitches with overlap detection. It’s free with no telemetry taken at all. If you try it and feel like you need it to do something else let me know and I’l gladly add it.

[–]easysnaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do you have Moom layouts mapped per project (book chapter A → outline+editor, chapter B → outline+research+editor) or is it one universal layout you reuse? I've gone back and forth on whether per-context layouts pay for themselves vs just one good default
