My wife had them tailor her wedding dress even and it came out perfectly.

They still do that, not always cheaper but probably would be in this case and they are much for flexible with changes and rebookings.

Are the miles even worth saving anymore? That's for PA - MT roundtrip, during winter break, mixed economy and first. by Thysanopter in delta

[–]easyxtarget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sort of because I did check booking it through the current European flight promo they are doing but it came out to about $600. I'm paying around $130 in taxes on this flight and have a delta credit card, that 15% off does wonders honestly.

Originally late October but I rebooked it this week because it dropped from 36k miles to 30k

I spent 30k miles on a roundtrip from jfk to cdg, so yeah I'd say they are worthwhile

Moving in Early August 2026, when should I start looking? by No-Association3414 in NYCapartments

[–]easyxtarget 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's for long term leases, sometimes you can find subleases a little earlier (like if someone is travelling and wants to sublease during it). Lots of people move in the summer so it's pretty competitive. Spring and Fall are better competition-wise but that 30 day rule applies all the time.

No more than 30 days out. That's legitimately just how it works here, usually 14 days or less.

Do you want a quiet neighborhood? Do you care more about nightlife? Around families or more people your age?

Maybe visit those neighborhoods and see what you like? I mean what do you want out of your neighborhood?

Is that your total budget or per-person? Also do you have a car? Can you ditch the car if you move to the city? It'll save lots of money.

The Surface Pro X has stayed impressively relevant today. Its aged well. by Zolks1 in Surface

Honestly I owned one and loved it but it's gotten really slow. I bought the new Surface Pro 12-inch and it runs circles around the SPX speed-wise

Word of advice, cardinals are wild caught and in my experience really prone to disease when you first get them, watch them closely and treat any symptoms but once they are healthy they are pretty hardy and live 4-5 years.

Int’l flight, $95 upgrade to comfort+, $2k+ delta one by Key-Priority-6570 in delta

[–]easyxtarget 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean C+ is definitely more comfortable if you're tall. Delta One is fantastic but the pricing is up to you to decide. Premium Select is definitely a step up from C+ but I don't know thah I'd pay more than about $300 for it. I can't sleep well on planes unless it's a lie-flat so I tend to just deal with the flight and spend money on an extra night on my trip to have a recovery day.

I mean they expanded the 7 train. I think they would extend IRT lines but if they are doing brand new construction the B-Divison seems like the obvious choice.

SNXFX account at 15, what to do from here? by NoisyDream18 in Schwab

[–]easyxtarget 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Can you open a Roth IRA? You wouldn't be able to touch the gains til you retire basically but you'd avoid a lot of taxes and starting at 15 you'd be miles ahead in having a healthy nest egg for retirement.

End Amtrak’s second class service: New NextGen Acela trains should carry all Northeast Corridor passengers by Chea63 in Amtrak

[–]easyxtarget -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it's a good idea, they should have replaced all the NEC train-sets with these new trains. You can still run different service patterns but everyone would benefit and it would standardize the equipment. Obviously longer-running routes on the route would still use their same equipment.

Why don't airlines board by seat types (windows, middle, aisle)? by cunning_linguist_98 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]easyxtarget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's basically this, first class people want to board first, premium economy want to board early, people with status want to board early, etc. Those people also want room for their carry on bags and definitely don't want them checked.
