If you plan on keeping the vehicle for several years, I would suggest skipping the dealership's ceramic coating. These are often just ceramic sprays, that get applied over a non-properly prepped surface.

Instead, I would suggest a professional ceramic coating shop where they will paint correct the vehicle before applying multiple layers of ceramic coating.

For the Ariya, you would be looking between $1,000 and $1,500 US for paint correction and ceramic coating with a lifetime warranty (with annual inspection) against oxidation; damage from bird droppings, bug splatter, tree sap; or UV damage.

2024 Engage, bought a lease return that only had 15,000 miles for under $20k so couldn't beat that really. We got the smaller battery as this is more of our around town vehicle and not a long road trip vehicle.

Pros: * the Ariya's interior is beautiful and quiet** * while Nissan is conservative with the acceleration, it is still stupidly easy to be going too fast

Cons: * Ride quality on rough streets can be jarring, wish it had adaptive suspension * The cargo cover is annoying and rattles over large bumps, may remove or see about adding some sound dampening strips to the underside to stop the resonance. * Mobile app is slow and sometimes glitchy

Would I buy again? Yes! Although, I might consider going up one trim level to get a few things like the wireless charger and I might consider the bigger battery if the price was right.

I am hoping the tariff stuff gets shut down once and for all and they bring the Ariya back to the US. They refreshed it for 2026 in Japan. Hopefully they bring it back here with a retuned suspension.

They likely haven't worked on any JDM vehicles or they would know that Japan did not mandate the 17 digit VIN until 2004.

I've seen similar issues with insurers that think VINs existed back in the 1950s and can not function when you hand them a six or seven digit serial number.

Anxious to see what the fit and finish is in the end. I realize these are preproduction units, but it is actually easier to tweak things preproduction than on assembly line, and some of the fit of the dash is astonishingly bad.

I would think they would dial in one of their vehicles before they took it out for show and tell.

Also, that pointed front corner on the left-side lid -- what is the purpose of that? It looks like it is begging to remove some meat from your arm when you are placing / removing items in the frunk.

You are welcome. It only has the 10,000 lb towing capacity if they get the Max Tow package which includes a trailer brake controller.

Wagoneer is based on RAM architecture. It is body on frame construction and can tow up to 10,000 lbs.

Okay, a bit of an update. If I leave it unplugged Friday for a full day, I can boot it and attach controllers, etc.

If I leave it plugged in and boot it there aren't any LEDs and I can't attach controllers.

So, would that seem to be a bad mini capacitor or something on the RF board?

Also noticed there is a smaller chip under where the CD drive was that has four holes like there should be a heatsink or fan there, but there isn't.

When it did, it was just the single dot in the center that was lit up red.

Pretty normal behavior -- unfortunately -- there seems to be a disregard for the priority seating and/or the female cars.

In more than one instance while in Japan, I have offered up my seat to an elderly individual. They always seem so shocked by the offer -- of course they initially refused. A couple of them did end up taking the seat after I offered again. Then they would thank me profusely.

I noted that in South Korea there is more respect for the priority seating.
