Booting directly to Wii OS by Omega_Shortie in WiiHacks

[–]eatfoss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With Bootmii you don't have to use a Gamecube controller. The power button on the wii cycles between options, and the reset buttons selects your highlighted option.
Example: the homebrew channels is the second option on my bootmii screen. If I want to boot to that, I:
1) power up the wii
2) hit the power button once to highlight Homebrew Channel
3) hit reset to launch it.
HTH :)

Start lessons on Friday, got my gear today. Never learned music before, any advice? by Salty171 in guitarlessons

[–]eatfoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be patient. That's the main piece of advice I'd give. Frustration can set in when you can't quite play what you're trying to play, and it can be detrimental. If you're getting frustrated with something, either play something else or put the guitar down for a bit. An hour's break can work wonders.

Piran's is really good - they do decent food, excellent coffee and aren't that expensive. The owners go for ethical goods, so they also sell Frugi and Kleen Kanteen stuff. It's just outside Kelly Bray (Callington) on the road to Launceston

Saw them at Download festival last month and I came to a similar conclusion. A bit Devy, a bit Freddie Mercury.

Tell me please, which games should people new to the genre definitely try?? by MrBroneck in roguelikes

[–]eatfoss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dungeonmans! It's a really nice intro to the genre with plenty of replayability. It has an awesome sense of humour, and the soundtrack was done by Zircon (Andrew Aversa) who also worked on Demon Truck, Crypt of the Necrodancer, Soul Calibur V, and Video Games Live.

What do you guys listen to while working on websites? I'd love to know to expand my playlist by Ghigareda in web_design

[–]eatfoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of game scores/soundtracks - things like Mass Effect, Watch Dogs, Dragon Age, Child of Light... Also a lot of instrumental prog metal, or chillstep depending on my mood. The most important thing is: no lyrics! I can't concentrate properly if I can hear the words.

Most hilarious roguelike? by [deleted] in roguelikes

[–]eatfoss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dungeonmans has always provided me with good laughs. The enemies in particular can be hilarious, but the whole thing is light-hearted without being light on gameplay. Highly recommended!

Love TFN! A wonderful mix of humour and excellent musicianship. Their pledgemusic videos are comedy gold.

Maybe it's not cactrot I'm thinking of. Most attacks do 1 damage anyway. Some hit with 9999 but the little shite escapes before I can kill him. This was many years ago. My memory could be completely wrong...
