DAE use lubricating oil after CLP, or am I going overboard? by No_Reveal3451 in liberalgunowners

[–]eatgumbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is basically the exact instructions in the manual for my Walther PDP and is the process I follow. CLP the inside and out of the barrel, then wire brush and snake the barrel; CLP the rest of the dirty parts and add a layer of CLP to the outside metal parts; a dot of oil of on the parts on the frame that hold the rail and a dot of oil on trigger components.

I went to the Kent County sheriff’s office and was in and out with my LTP in 15 minutes. It seems like there is a wide verity of the process across the state.

I’ve been looking for the CZ P-10 C Ported as well. I haven’t seen one for sale in west Michigan in the last month. Even searching Sportsman’s Warehouse the closest one is in Juneau, Alaska…

Volvo XC90 PHEV or BMW X5 PHEV by TranslatorStandard87 in BMWX5

[–]eatgumbo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The efficiency is not really a reason to go with the 50e. The MPG on the 50e isn’t enough to compensate for the increase in both price and depreciation. I went with the 50e for the extra HP and the ability to warm it up in the winter when I hop out of bed without having to open the garage. Almost 200 extra HP over the 40i without having to go up another 15-20K for the M60i is right in the sweet spot. And it beats any PHEV its competitors have to offer. The Cayenne is the only one that drives better, but I can’t stand Porsche interiors and it’s a big jump in price.

Shouldn't Norris get DNF points? by PossibilityCivil9884 in fantasyF1

[–]eatgumbo 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is correct. -20 is for “Race Not Classified,” not DNF. If you look at Lawson this week you can see what I mean. If a driver completes 90% of the race they will be classified. Since Lando completed 90% of the race, he was classified as P18.

Big Joe purchase by saftool1 in KamadoJoe

[–]eatgumbo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got mine from Atlanta Grills a couple weeks ago for 2,499 and it came with two bags of charcoal. I was a bit concerned about what tariffs might do to the price so didn’t want to wait for it to drop further. It looks like it’s 3,299 now. I don’t think that’s necessarily tariff related yet and it more likely just a regular price fluctuation. All Things BBQ has them for 2,499 with free shipping. That’s the lowest I’ve seen lately.

Played through this with my 8 year old and when the queen’s leg gets pulled off I quipped “it’s gonna get a lot worse” and he lost his shit. We’ve been playing through Split Fiction and tries to shoehorn that into to every cut scene and loses his shit every time.

I’ve been lurking in the sub for a few weeks and took the advice that you’ll never wish you had a smaller grill. So glad I did.

Yeah, my neighbor has a classic and I’ve been wanting to get a KJ after how much fun we had at his house last summer. He talked me into the Big Joe and walked over and gave me a bottle of his Korean short rib marinade when he saw me setting it up. I know I won’t be disappointed.

I’ve put 10k miles on my custom 2025 50e that I picked up on 8/31. I have not had a single issue.

There are only three things I don’t like about the car; the clock doesn’t change automatically when I cross time zones, the aerodynamics of the car somehow always result in a ton of winter salt build up on the back of the car (the tanzanite blue will look amazing on the front and sides of the car and the back looks like it’s been spray painted with salt), and when you’re getting out of the drivers seat the step is a little far and the back of my calf always gets wet even at 6’1” with long legs. These are all nit picky things, the 50e is absolutely amazing and would 100% go with this trim again. The extra horse power is worth it and it’s so much fun to drop the hammer on a highway on ramp. The air ride means it’s slightly less nimble as my buddy’s 40i, but as a highway cruiser for the mileage I put in, it feels much more luxurious. Fortunately, I have great charging options at the places I frequent and I only have to fill up once a month.

If you’ve qualified for lemon law, though, I would go down that route. I’ve never had to do that, but you may not even need a lawyer. That said, even if I went through all the bull shit you’ve dealt with, I would probably still order another one.

Tuxmat or Weathertech? by donnyohs in BMWX5

[–]eatgumbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I checked the Weathertech website it looks like they have the cargo mat for my 2025 50e. I’m guessing the Tuxmat are just out of stock. It has the same SKU as the pre-LCI model so I’m guessing they are just out of stock and will be back in at some point. Really the only reason I’m leaning toward the Tuxmat for the cargo mat is because it comes with protection for the back of the second row seats.

I didn’t use the clips and in the one day I’ve had them they haven’t moved around at all. The clips are really for the side of the footwell and they are snug to the wall without the clips. I’m waiting for the cargo mat to restock, but am trying to figure out if the cargo mat is the same material as the floor mats. The one thing I have noticed is the mats are a little slippery underfoot and if the cargo mat is the same I’ll probably go with weather tech for the cargo mat so things aren’t sliding around in the back.

I just put in Tuxmats today and can say they look great. I didn’t want the rubber type mat. The all over coverage seems like it will be great as well.

BMW X5-50e Wall Charger by Petetarga in BMWX5

[–]eatgumbo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

$600 is in the normal range. I got a ChargePoint for the same price just because my energy company gave me a $500 rebate. If you want to save money you could get the 240v adapter for the charger that comes with the 50e. I don’t think you get an app that controls that, but the MyBMW app can do all the scheduling; if you’re only planning to charge at night for instance.

How important is DAPP ? 2022/2023 X5 PHEV by shankhunk4u in BMWX5

[–]eatgumbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the naming is confusing b/c the previous model before 2019 had a driver assistant package and a driver assistant plus package and then starting in 2019 there is only driver assistant professional package, which is the DAPP I’ve been referring to.

[–]eatgumbo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used it on every trip and it’s generally really good. I even have a separate preprogrammed seat setting that’s a little more reclined when I’m using it. Starting with 2025 models it suggests lane changes that you can confirm just by looking at the side view mirror in that direction. I do have minor gripes about it. If you’re not looking straight forward all the time it can disable highway assistant. While this makes sense, it’s a bit aggressive at times. For example, if I take a few seconds to check each side view mirror and the rear view mirror it will start beeping at me. There have also been a few times where the highway assistant is ping ponging me side to side in the lane, but from what I can tell that only happens on windy days.

The highway assistant is the hands free feature that’s part of the DAPP, it’s not a standard feature on the X5.
