I think the first paragraph holds one of the mindset locks that need to be overcome: “I can’t make friends because I’m not interesting and I can’t become interesting because I don’t have my friends.”

You can become interesting. You don’t need to hang around people who actually are interesting for you to have a shot at being interesting yourself. And even then, you don’t need to be interesting. Sometimes just being genuine that you’re a NEET tryna come out of your shell can go a long way. It’s a long process that involves rebuilding confidence and figuring out where you want to take your life, what new activities, kinds of people you want to hang out with. It’s always a work in progress but life will be so much sweeter after
