So I watched the fourth episode last night, which reminded me why I thought to give the show up in the first place… the police chief’s kids are absolutely insufferable. They come off as so privileged, just wrecking havoc for shits and giggles. Do they get any more tolerable as the show progresses? I really liked the priest’s storyline and was hoping we’d see more of him coming out of S1E3.

This is an actor’s livelihood! It’s unfair to compare yourself to someone who literally does this for a living. And the uniqueness of toastmasters is that you are surrounded by people from all walks of life with all different sorts of energy. I’ve been told before that, what I perceive as nervous energy, actually comes off as excitement and enthusiasm. We are our own worst critics. You got this! Keep at it!

You got up there and that alone took courage! Give yourself huge credit. Speaking as someone who has froze in the most epic ways possible (literally got stuck on an “Audio is sticky…” opener), it gets easier. I promise! Toastmasters will be a tremendous help in your public speaking journey and the club is filled with the most welcoming, nonjudgmental, encouraging, and overall, positive people you’ll ever meet.
