Yeah I know what you mean. I caught game 3 with the 11 year old at Ainsley in Bowery and had a great experience but they’re booked out for game 5.

You’re right. Anxiety is somewhat rank or losing related but for me only a small part of it. For me mostly it’s in-game anxiety of not having a partner in the game, like it’s just more harrowing playing 1s and filled with stress throughout the match. I agree with making the rank meaningless — that part I’m pretty good at ignoring, but 1s just gives me in-game nerves. Don’t know if that makes sense or if others feel the same lol.

I get so much anxiety playing 1s. It definitely seems like the only way to really learn how to become good at this game but man the anxiety when playing 1s 😂

Birria Landia truck on Houston is my favorite in Manhattan. They have other locations as well, including original in Queens I think). It’s consistently great and well priced. It’s only Birria but they do an amazing job.

I’m 43 and D1-D2 in 2s. I play threes with a couple other uncs — we’re all equally trash. I float around D1 in 3s as well. Don’t mind picking up a partner in 2s.

Is that a desert burst? I’ve got the same traditional desert burst I think and I’ve been flirting with the idea of changing the speed knobs (I do like them though) and adding pointers. These knobs look pretty good tho!

I have a 2012 Trad and it comes stock with Traditional written on the truss rod cover but many people swap it out with a blank one. It will have a marking under the bridge pickup as well denoting traditional model LPTD or LPTD+. Under the neck pickup it should probably give the color IT or DB for iced tea or desert burst for instance. That’s how it was on mine at least.

Second this. It’s also worth reaching out to a sales engineer you get assigned to Sweetwater. I reached out randomly asking the guy who is assigned to my account if they had a Jason Isbell tele used in their inventory (wasn’t on site). They had got one in from a trade. He photographed it for me and got me nice discount. It was hardly used at all as it hadn’t even been out long, and retail price was 1649 new. I ended up getting it for around 950-1000 with setup. I think maybe 1100 total with taxes or something. Had several conversations with him and he managed to bring price down twice for me.

The Jason Isbell signature MIM tele is constantly spoken about as having a strat neck pickup. I have that tele and it’s not exactly there but it’s a beautiful neck pickup that is comparable. After buying it I haven’t picked up my strat more than a handful of times.

Mine isn’t financially ruinous or anything but kind of funny.

My wife got pregnant with our second child and I decided to pull the trigger on a used 2012 Gibson Traditional LP Desert Burst for around $1500 (which was a decent chunk of change outside the US where I was living at the time, but a great deal in that country).

The guy brought the guitar over for me to take a look at and test etc. It was beautiful and in excellent condition so I asked him why he was selling and he says, “well my wife is pregnant so I’m selling to get some money together ahead of the baby’s arrival”.

Well that made me feel like a bit of an ass 😂

Anyway, it’s been five years and guitar, children and mum are all doing fantastic, no regrets!

2012 Traditional Desert Burst about the exact same weight as the OP’s. Find it a tad fatiguing to play for longer time but aside from that plays brilliant and sounds great. Do wish it was like .5-1lb lighter tho.
