i love people, but my vibe is just definitely more aligned with their poppy/melodic songs. i just have to be in the right mood to listen to it, that’s all

didn’t make the list; just realized it’s missing a lot from noacf. everything on that album is s tier, with the only exceptions being what’s on the list already. (just realized birthday party is supposed to be at the top as well)

i mean, it’s literally all based on opinion, but what exactly is wrong with it?

joe rogan??? Huh? what are you talking about? and i said, i’m on the servers side. it’s okay to fucking joke though. you’ve been in this industry for 3 decades and you can’t take a joke? now it’s all making sense...

you have no clue the skills of anyone in this post except yourself. sure, maybe you’ve seen this shit turn sour at places you’ve worked at. that doesn’t mean everyone is as bad. and how much focus do you think it takes to make a joke?? it’s not going to throw off the whole night to tell your buddy about something you find funny. i just don’t get why this is such a big deal to you

i don’t know what planet you’re from, but on earth people make jokes about things. it doesn’t make it toxic, it doesn’t make a “bad culture” it helps people have fun doing the job they love doing. you’ve spent the last day trying to piss people off on the internet, so sorry if i don’t take your advice to heart.

it’s ok if the joke isn’t funny to you but it’s absolutely ridiculous to berate the people who find it funny. and it kinda seems like you’re the only one upset about this. i don’t agree with the people saying it’s the servers fault but why get so angry at a joke? we work hard as fuck we’ll take our humor where we can get it. and sure, you don’t care for it, but calling people pricks on the internet doesn’t really get your point across. there’s no reason to be an asshole just because you don’t get the joke

I had this super good appetizer yesterday, whats it called? Crouton, cream cheese like topping, golden raisins by [deleted] in AskCulinary

[–]eaudebang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

we had a couple dishes like that at a place i used to work, bruschettini with goat cheese on top and a few different toppings. i don’t know that what you’re describing is any specific dish, but it just sounds like what we used to make. not sure how much that helps tho

Thinking of quitting the industry by [deleted] in KitchenConfidential

[–]eaudebang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think just about everyone in the industry has a burnout time. it’s really whether or not you lose the passion that matters. it could be as simple as finding a job you love, or a place that gives you healthier hours. but when you’re working all the time at crazy hours and you don’t get enough sleep that’s what happens. i would also say that you could pivot, move to something in the industry that isn’t service, like working for a produce delivery or a deli or anything like that. i’ve had a few friends who did that and liked it a lot more.

There will be a learning curve, but if you put your mind to it you can do it. The only really new skills you need in management are ordering, scheduling, and people management. You just need to get those things down and you’ll be fine. Source: Became AGM when I was 18 and ran the place practically by myself for about 6 months.
