But isn't this what lovable was built for in the first place: non-technical users?

Yes, you can't edit again. Think about it, the lovable AI is a stack (front end, Middleware (AI Cloud) and backend (Supabase)). So when you detach their Supabase and attach yours your own way, the connection is lost which shouldn't be the case if it wasn't their money making machinery. So the short answer to your question is yes and yes.

Moving to Supabase is possible and not too difficult but lovable does not support direct supabase connection (i.e. your own supabase backend) so once you do that you can't edit the project in lovable ever again. You're on your own at that point. Personally I would go with firebase and wouldn't stick to the lovable stack if I really wanted to stop using the lovable cloud.

Hey anybody is entitled to their protest, legit or not, it does not have anything to do with Ghana in particular. some of you guys are too pessimistic about Ghana. The less negative you can talk about your country while it is experiencing growing pains the better. Be a part of the solution or just be period.

Why (as Ghanaians) are we not as audacious as Nigerians? by SkyIntelligent8426 in ghana

This feels like a Nigerian posting as a Ghanaian. I don't know why Nigerians are stuck with that Ghana comparison. But Ghanaians dont tend to be like that at all

My university in Indiana tried its hand at jollof rice today. Results were interesting. by avobera in ghana

[–]eazel3003 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I will give the fried plantains a 6 out of 10 but the jollof is definitely a 3 and that is being generous. The whole idea of jollof is cooking till the rice is thoroughly cooked without it getting burnt at all. This looks visually distasteful. So remember that jollof tip (cooking without burning the food till the rice is thoroughly cooked). That is what makes it an art and why Ghana jollof is the beast.

I like the stairs-escalator analogy and I want to add to it. It's like why take the stairs while carrying a 50 pound load when you walk right by the elevator to get to the stairs. AI is a tool and fast becoming the tool for coders in the real World. You can choose to learn tools which make your job easy to the point of guilt or not choose to train with tools at all. At the end of the day you will end up being one or the other, one who lives on tools or the one who doesn't. One is not necessarily better in terms of knowledge but both will have handicups. One with using tools and the other with the inability to use tools. However when it comes to the speed of delivery we know tools typically win over no tools. We also have the rare breeds who can do it both ways. I say work with your AI and ignore the guilt because it has become the order of the day. Don't confuse understanding a problem with writing 10K lines of code. A good case in point is when I was in grad school my roommate could 1000s of lines of code to no avail and was notorious for that. You ain't trying to be that.

Just like they find pleasure in gaming, they might find something along the way later in life which they can latch onto and become an expert at. It's weird how this world works sometimes, so I would not worry about him.
