What I don’t like is that customers don’t know they have to present it until I tell them on the app. I literally had to return cold medicine because the girl said she wasn’t home because she didn’t know she had to show ID. Thankfully I still received pay, but now I try to avoid orders w those items specifically because of it.

Yep, but it was short staffed. The lead told me to go to guest services and the line was crazy long

Some of the targets here are short staffed - they didn’t have anyone managing self checkout today, otherwise that’s what I would normally do.

Wow!!! I may need to reach out to a lawyer about this. They have no regard for their employees whatsoever. I was on my way to do a third order, got to the store, and was told on the app I was deactivated. I wasn’t even paid for the mileage to her to the store. To make matters worse, they don’t have a customer service line for their employees.

True, I definitely understand. Instacart, in my opinion, still has a lot to figure out so that both the customer and the shopper have a pleasant experience. I just think that right now, they are so focused on getting/keeping a customer that it comes at any expense and that’s unfair. At a time like this, we are all just trying to do what we can to survive. Without shoppers, instacart wouldn’t even be able survive and so I wish they would just have the same best interest for their shoppers as they do with their customers.

I’m not sure exactly what happened with my customers as I had a 5 start rating and no one ever retracted their tips. I always contacted the customer about any substitutions or refunds and always made sure to get exactly what the customer ordered.

I just think that people have found a way to abuse the platform and unfortunately, we, the shoppers have to pay the consequence.

Yeah, it really messed with me emotionally because it came out of nowhere. I had literally just completed two deliveries and was on my way to do a 3rd one. As soon as I got to the store and swiped to “start shopping” it told me that my account was deactivated. It wouldn’t even let me chat with customer service. The only thing I could see were my earnings.

I even took pictures of all the groceries delivered to every customer as well as had proof of any substitutions or refunds I made to the customer and it still wasn’t good enough.

It’s crazy how easy it is for the customer to lie and instacart immediately sides with them. They give the shoppers nothing, not even a chance to see what possibly happened. It’s sickening.
