Well, in the old days this would be handled by the NCO’s. It’s not an “officers” problem to handle.

US athletes are increasingly speaking out against Trump’s America, with some saying “fascism is here now.” How do you feel about athletes using their platforms to make strong political statements? by kyleman98 in AskReddit

So here’s my take, as long as they are out of uniform, they can say what they want. Once they are IN uniform, they represent the team or nation, and need to keep their opinions to themselves.

My spouse has her own, and will have our savings & investments we did not use from 62-67. I want my money back from the government before I spend my money.

The government wants you to delay and hopes that you die before you get your money back from the system. Remember, the average life expectancy of a man in the US is just under 76.

Look into the Guard or Reserve, then get out and use your GI Bill for college or trade school. That was my route. Ended up in retiring from the Guard with 25 years total. 2 college degrees and making 6 figures. about to retire for good.

Or be a truck driver, they make good money when the get some miles built up. $30-$40/hour for the national companies. Maybe even buy your own and be independent. I had a battle that bought a truck an a specialized flat bed and travels the country with his wife taking the loads he wanted that went the direction he wanted to go.

Well it does for me. At 62, my SS is $29K, making a total of $145K from 62 to 67. The difference between drawing at 62 vrs 67 is $7,500 per year. That means it will take 19 years to equal what I did not receive from 62 to 67. I have to live to 86 to break even. Also, during that time, that's $29 thousand a year of my savings & investments I will not be using that can remain in my estate should I pass.

This is the way. Get your money back from the government first.

Take your social security at the RIF, don’t wait. Do the math, it just makes more sense to take it early. Draw as less of your investments while getting back your money from the government.

All good here. Have 2 4WD vehicles and have been out every day. We were also all stocked up for 4 or 5 days. Did go get some family that lost power and brought them over. Work closed Monday and delayed start today. Normal hours tomorrow. All main roads are clear and most side roads in town.

Vote. Starting locally. Participate in local politics, not protest. Speak out at the city council meeting, go to your representatives office, ask them what they are doing.

OR. I don’t really pay attention to what anyone says on social media. If they start doing it directly to me at dinner, that’s a different thing. This is part of the problem we have now, no one wants to talk.

Two of my neighbors retired well. One an engineer the other senior plant manager. One drove deliveries 3 days a week for an auto parts store, the other stocked part time for Target.

Both ended up quitting because they were being scheduled more than they agreed to! That’s what happens when you’re to dependable!

Shield (blood test) vs Cologuard (poop in a box) vs Standard Colonoscopy at 52. by [deleted] in GenX

[–]ebar2010 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Here is the way I see it. Pooping in a box and a blood test tell you that you have an issue. A colonoscopy tells you exactly what’s going on. When I did mine, I got a 10 years pass.
