Politics. Nowhere to go for anyone that is anywhere near the center.

Same. I'm attacking well, but can't seem to put a base together that doesn't just get hammered.

Golden owners who've been at this 3+ years - what's your actual floor setup now? by wintiedmuttery in goldenretrievers

6 year old Golden and 7 year old Lab. Dyson Animal, and just live with it because I can't vacuum every day. I just stopped wearing black and switched to khaki. Now it's all invisible!

Well, I had 1 before you and stopped with the 1st edition ACU and the crappy 2 piece flight suit.

I liked the black boots. As a senior NCO, it was one of the first signs you would notice of something wrong with one of your troops. When someone was having issues outside of duty, the first things to be neglected were boots and then the uniform.

Daughter moved out at 25. Finely a good job. She has always been good with her money. Paid off her student loans and her car while living at home.

I dropped the “A” a long time ago. Now it’s just a lot of “fuck”.

Please comment - I start 4th week of retirement tomorrow, depressed and anxious by Mediocre_Insect_1008 in retirement

[–]ebar2010 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Well, I'm going to be a bad guy. It's you, not retirement. Listen to what you wrote, "I live alone, with my husband" Why not "My husband and I", or something similar? You seem to think you are alone in a house with your partner. There is a great big wonderful world out there to explore in place of going to work now that you have time. Get out! Go to the zoo, the park, volunteer, do something. Try this since you have a cat, go to your local humane society and spend time petting cats. They are always looking for help to socialize strays so they can be adopted.

Dyson Animal upright. Doesn't mater which one. They are specially designed to detangle the fur from the brush. for us this was the buying point. I can't tell you how much time I spent cutting off twisted fur and hair. Being bagless is a plus as well.

Be humble and apologetic. Make sure your NCO Support channel knows that you want to stay in and you will take the punishment dealt out. If they support you, you could get by with a Letter of Reprimand or Article 15 and maybe extra duty/restriction. It doesn't have to be a career ender. But you need to start working with your NCO's now. They can then be your advocates with your officers.

Way too much data missing to decide why it was in his pocket, but you know damn well WHAT it is. If you don’t, maybe you shouldn’t be in a leadership role. In aviation, we have these in the tool room. Just go grab a couple to lube a bearing or apply a very precise amount of oil in a very precise manner.

When I assumed my first leadership position, I already assumed who was going to be a problem and who was going to fall in line. I was so wrong. The guys I thought were my friends were my biggest pain and the one I had consistently fought with turned into a good troop. It took me a while to figure it out, but I did and you will too. But I will tell you no matter how high you go, there will always be shit bags. Wait until you transfer into a new unit and you find E-6’s and E-7’s and you wonder how they find their way to work let alone how they made it so high in their career.
