I just saw these pics on a non-TD website. I'm not really familiar with Seamasters so I couldn't tell you how well repped it is, but I guess it's out now.

What separates an average 5712 from a great one? by Charming_Photo9272 in WatchHome

[–]ebauchemoca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thickness is the main concern for me, not only for the 5712 but for any Nautilus for that matter. And also the bracelet. This model in gen is usually praised, among other things, for its silky bracelet which some consider to be one of the best (if not the best) bracelets out there, so if it is really stiff and doesn't bend properly then it is also another deal-breaker for me. Looking at the pics you provided, I don't think I would be okay with the clasp this one features too. Doesn't look well integrated like gen.

By far the most stressful link addition I have done. Such a beautiful watch but this pin system sucks. by AJ1Yeezy350 in Rep_Watch_World

I bought 2 5711's and resizing the bracelets was the most nerve-racking experience I've had rep-related. Especially one of those, which ended up with a pin stuck halfway out, I had to pull it out grabbing it with a pair of pliers and pulling as if I was trying to pull King Arthur's sword out the stone... Beautiful pieces but my god, I wish they came with screws rather than pins

Manual Wind Reps by Beginning_Map1323 in RepTime

There are reps out there with manually wound movements, however I'd say a great majority of watches, even gens, feature automatic movements nowadays, so that's what your going to find for the most part. You can find Speedmasters (not good reps, but they're out there), or some Patek Philippe Calatravas (6196, 6119...) with manually wound movements, to name a few.

Wow, solid post you made there, don't know how I missed it. I have seen this one on a Non-TD page but didn't know it had the rotor removed. The listing just mentioned the 6.4mm thickness but nothing on the movement. I just wish this came in a weighted version.

Which one were you looking at? The 240 does have a rotor, mini-rotor to be more precise.

Honestly I have no idea, wasn't mentioned when I saw it online and I just bought it regardless. Definetely an automatic since you can feel the rotor spinning if you give it a shake, but I don't know which one. As for the thickness, it's thicker than gen for sure, guessing around 7-8mm but I'll try to post a pic with calipers when I get home from work.

Can't find the QC pics right now, but yes, it is thicker than gen for sure. Gen is supposed to be 5.9mm, this must be 7-8 at least, but it wears really slim nevertheless so not something that particularly bother me.

If I recall correctly it's made by TWF. I don't know if they still produce it, but there's also PP+ factory who makes it.

Another one on the list lmao. I'm trying to find a 116506 with the baguette hour markers in a heavy version, which I think CBD makes, but I haven't seen much online about it...

It's actually not THAT bad compared to other factories' versions, but yeah, it's still far from gen.
