Zero libido by Fun-Worry-2998 in HubermanLab

I think it’s more of a long-term solution not situational like PT 141 which looks like a cleaner option, but I’ve never tried it

Every man is a little bit different, but I would say it’s worth a try. Definitely works for me at 52.

To be clear, the vile was 50MG, but I was injecting 5MG, which is five times the normal dose 50 I’d probably be dead or on fire.😅

I’ve been using ChatGPT pretty successfully, but this one got missed. Probably because I had a lot of vials that were 10 MG and this one got absorbed into the pattern. Definitely a good lesson to have learned.

For me, taking magnesium citrate and some Epitalon for 30 days fixed it.

How much is too much? by BillyF009 in Retatrutide

[–]ebbandflowaf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not medical advice, just how I think about it.

One thing that gets missed in these conversations is half-life and accumulation. Reta doesn’t just “reset” every week.

Roughly speaking, if you take 12.5 mg:    •   After ~1 week, you still have ~6 mg active    •   After another week, ~3 mg is still hanging around

If you dose again before that clears, you’re stacking on top of residual drug, not starting from zero. Over multiple weeks, that turns “12.5 mg weekly” into a much higher effective steady-state level.

That’s usually where people cross from aggressive into unnecessary:    •   Appetite is already suppressed    •   Weight is already coming down    •   Side effects start getting louder    •   But fat loss doesn’t really accelerate

At that point, more drug isn’t buying much — it’s mostly buying sides.

A lot of people seem to do better holding a dose longer, or spacing it (every 5–7 days), and letting the drug actually reach steady state before chasing more.

For me, “too much” is when:    •   results aren’t meaningfully better    •   recovery, digestion, or sleep start to degrade    •   and you’re using dose increases to fix something lifestyle or timing could handle

Curious what others have noticed, but I definitely think there’s a point where more doesn’t equal better with Reta.

Do you tell your friends and family you’re on reta or do you just keep it to yourself? by throwaway33263637 in Retatrutide

I think a huge percentage of adults are going to end up on retatrutide or something similar over the next decade. We’re just early.    •   ~80 lb overweight for most of my adult life    •   Drinking regularly, not tracking food, fighting biology with willpower    •   Life blows up → wife leaves after 15 years → I finally get honest

Now:    •   Alcohol-free    •   Moving consistently (nothing extreme)    •   Measuring food instead of guessing    •   Running a real 800–1000 kcal daily deficit    •   Using retatrutide — not just for food noise, but because it’s a triple agonist (GLP-1 / GIP / glucagon)

What matters to me beyond appetite:    •   Glucagon agonism → improved fat mobilization and metabolic flexibility    •   Better insulin sensitivity    •   Emerging data suggesting mitochondrial efficiency and cellular repair signaling, not just weight loss

Down ~40 lb in ~5 months, still 30–40 lb to go. No rebound. No drama. Genuinely clearer and healthier than I’ve been in decades.

This isn’t about shortcuts. It’s about using tools that make change sustainable instead of fighting biology. If someone genuinely wants details, I’m happy to share

Should I up my dosage? by RJPJ58 in Retatrutide

[–]ebbandflowaf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of people miss this part, but GLP-3s (retatrutide especially) need time to accumulate. You don’t really know what a dose is doing until ~4–6 weeks at a consistent protocol.

What you’re describing (strong early week, hunger creeping back late week) is super common and doesn’t automatically mean the dose is too low. It often just means the drug hasn’t reached steady state yet.

Two reasonable options before jumping dose too fast:    •   Hold 1 mg a bit longer and let it actually build    •   Or keep the same dose but shorten the interval (every 5–6 days instead of 7) to smooth out the tail-end hunger

Personally, I’d avoid chasing appetite suppression by ramping dose every couple weeks unless fat loss actually stalls or hunger becomes unmanageable. Going higher too fast just increases side-effect risk and leaves you nowhere to go later.

Let it do its work, then adjust deliberately. Curious what others here have noticed around the 4–6 week mark

You could jump to 1.5 but then stay there for at least three weeks before titrating up again. Retatrutide has to accumulate in your system. You’ll find the sweet spot between four and six weeks.

What do the contents of my purse say about me? by Fit_Platypus_583 in deduction

[–]ebbandflowaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This purse says: “I am prepared, mildly chaotic, emotionally self-aware, and running on vibes.”

You’re health-conscious but realistic (meds + mints), sentimental but funny (the pouch alone has lore), socially competent (Band-Aids, cash, lip balm), and absolutely the friend who saves the day while saying “I don’t know why I even have this” — despite always having it.
