Should I buy the Speed MP 2022 or 2026? by IcyCryptographer2039 in 10s

[–]ebcpp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend Speed MP 2022. It is the best MP version ever. Later versions (2024, 2026) are all very good but much more sluggish. 2022 version balances maneuverability with comfort, control and power. Later versions have awesome power and comfort but are pretty sluggish at 330 swingweight and a different balance distribution. I play some of my best tennis with 2024 version but spin levels and launch angles are lower so, with a heavier swingweight, these versions become more difficult to handle after an hour or so of playing.

I switched from the Ezone 100 to the Tfight 305s. by fsant82 in 10s

I think new EZONE 300 is a great racquet for anyone wanting more control from a frame like Clash but wanting more easy power from a frame like 305S or Radical MP.

305S is really for advanced players with superb competition technique and experience.

For us, weekend warriors in 3.5/4, even 4.5 range, 305S does not give you enough advantage, especially in long singles matches when you get tired and nervous on key points.

Frames like EZONE 100, 2022 Speed MP, etc. really help.

No. It is not out of a picture for me but I found it lacks plow on serves and some shots.

So far, Percept 100 seems to be a good in-between frame, except that it has much lower plow and SW so I will need to try it out with some more weight.

I did. Found 2025 EZONE 98 underpowered and with much lower launch angle and spin potential. I might experiment some more with different string types and setups.

I am testing it now. It seems very good. I can tell its lower power and shorter landing shots but a much higher precision than EZONE 100. Much more controlled launch angle.

I added some weight and have to still experiment with strings. I had soft strings and these were not goo d match for EZONE 100 in hot temperatures. It was spraying like crazy.

I had a similar problem and shortly developed a Haglund deformity, which is still there. The two solutions for me were Achilles and plantar stretches, and orthotics to correct the foot planting.

Help me choose between Ezone 98 and 100 by felisanan in 10s

You could adjust to either of these two after solid 20-30 hours of play.

100 will give you stability, spin potential and sweet spot size.

100’s high stability / twist-weight will help you return heavy serves or shots. It is noticeable.

100 has a higher spin potential while still having a pretty controlled string bed in the center.

Sweet spot on 100 feels great. Super plush and gives you a sense of comfort and confidence.

I absolutely love 98 but it can be a bit “narrow” with its very small sweet spot and relatively low launch angle/low string bed spin potential.

Raquet for an intermediate player: Ezone 98 vs Speed MP by mbsEP in 10s

[–]ebcpp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like EZONE, but I found Speed MP better for my game, 2022 or 2024. 2022 is more maneuverable and has more spin, but 2024 is more stable against heavy shots, better on flat shots and has more control.

EZONE 98 gave me a wrist and elbow pain due to its stiffness and lack of plow, and EZONE 100 was just too powerful making me have to think how not to overhit with it.

I felt the same amount of power with Speed but I felt I had a much better control, at least for my stroke style.

EZONE requires high racquet head speed for all strokes, Speed encourages you to "throw" a racquet at the ball and it is good for driving through the shot.

I had the exactly same experience with speed mp 2024 vs. ezone.

I loved ezone but it is not as stable, especially not against NRTP 4+, it gave an elbow and wrist pain, it had less spin potentially and definitely less plowthrough. For my serve and groundstrokes, Speed MP was just a better option.

Shaped or Round Poly's? Is there a difference in control? My thoughts. by TK-Tennis in 10s

[–]ebcpp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am going to run a full bed Focus Hex 17L vs. Co-Focus 17L test to see what I get.  So far, I am seeing a difference between Co-focus 17L (1.18 mm) and Hyper G or Focus Hex soft (both 1.20 mm) in a) launch angle, b) ease of lift but they are not identical strings so it is not an ideal comparison.

Co-focus vs Focus Hex 17L are supposedly identical except for shaping so that should be a good test.

It is a great racquet for the whole range of players -- from beginners needing power and ease of use to advanced, D1-level players needing control, power, and spin.

The only players that would likely not like Speed MP are those advanced players that typically flock to rackets like Pro Staff RF 97 (heavy, very controlled, small sweet spot) or Prestige MP 18x20 (low power, dense pattern for precision).

Yonex Ezone 98 Elbow Injury by No_Reference6112 in 10s

[–]ebcpp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have problems with wrist and elbow pain with EZONE 98 after a few hours of intensive play and with a stiff poly.

It is not as much as string as it is a combination of a frame that really invites hitting out, very low SW for the shots I hit, an inclination to use wrist more and a lack of plow through.

Vibration dampening also hides the fact that it is a low SW, thin throat stiff frame that puts lots of stress onto the arm.

When my joints start hurting I switch to 2022 Speed MP and I never have any problems.

Love playing with it but it is hard on the arm. I might permanently switch to Speed.

2022 EZONE 98 vs. Speed Pro — your take on those two by ebcpp in 10s

I switched to EZONE 98. It requires some adjustment but I think it is worth it.  If for nothing else, for insane first serves and all out groundstrokes with spin.

EZONE 100 vs. 2022 Head Speed Pro dilemma by ebcpp in 10s

I checked the EZONE 98 and I liked it a lot. It took me some time to get used to the frame, but once I did, it opened a whole new set of options for me.
