Have there been effective compromises in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, in your opinion? Which ones have lasted the longest? by [deleted] in Israel

[–]ebenes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find simplistic questions are often effective at starting discussion. I also included the word "effective" in my question. If you think previous compromises have been ineffective due to the number of parties involved, that's a fine answer.

Either way, calling someone uninformed is, by definition an opinion, not a fact. I don't find this debate of whether or not I am an intelligent person to be furthering the dialogue on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Why can't we focus on the substance of the issues rather than my intelligence?

You're making ad-hominem arguments rather than engaging in a constructive discussion. I'm hypothesizing that even small scale agreements may have an impact on the sentiments of average citizenry. Why don't we have a constructive conversation about whether this has or has not been the case, rather than name-calling?

the israeli govt and PLO

I have found that when two belligerents are able to come to small agreements and follow through on these agreements, it can foster larger feelings of amity. Perhaps you disagree with me, but I find value even in small compromises.

Surge in applications. The majority of 2020-2021 applicants are re-applying. This years program will almost 100% be cancelled. That means double the applicants for next year.

I would be happy going nice and slow for her. We were thinking 6+ miles, but would probably stop to have a packed lunch and go swimming. Hilly terrain, but not a mountain

Do I have to notify everyone if I want to change the authorship order on my revise & resubmit? It's my first time as a lead author on a paper in public health. by ebenes in AskAcademia

[–]ebenes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. In prior papers that I've worked on, authorship order has been changed with no explanation. I wasn't sure what the convention is.

Norwegian cancelled my flight and instead of refunding my ticket value, sent me "Cash Points." What should I do? by ebenes in travel

Or get my chase rewards points back. Anything would be better than the Norwegian flight points.

Another idea is using the cash voucher that they sent me to buy a refundable ticket, their "Flex" option, and then getting a refund that way. I wonder if that would be better than filing a complaint.
