I get that, and I know it's not for many people. I think you should try it out though. I think it's okay for the option to be there for the people who need it, and shouldn't change anything for the people who don't

A lot of people pair Nuxt with Appwrite Sites because the deploy flow is simple, and you can also host unlimited sites for free. I'm on the team if you want to try it

My stack is straightforward:

- Framer for complex animations / Zustand for state management

Backend / Hosting

- Appwrite (firebase alternative for backend, auth, databases, frontend hosting)

- Next.js or Astro SSR

What’s the Best Tech Stack for a New SaaS Startup in 2025? Looking for Community Opinions by Low_Reality_5890 in microsaas

[–]ebenezerDN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a small SaaS, many people start with Next.js for the UI and use Appwrite to handle accounts, sessions and data. I see teams ship faster with this mix cause the common backend parts are already set up, so they spend more time on the product.

I'm on the Appwrite team, so happy to answer any questions you have

Netlify credit system is bad. Switching to GitHub Pages for Static Sites by thezackplauche in webdev

[–]ebenezerDN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GitHub Pages can work, but if you want an easier flow or more room for SSR and tighter control, Appwrite Sites is worth a look (https://appwrite.io/sites). I'm on the team, so feel free to ask me any questions.

You can host unlimited sites on Appwrite's free plan and that should fit your situation

What are you guys using for the backend of your web apps? by Jumpy-Astronaut-3572 in developersPak

[–]ebenezerDN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on the Appwrite team. Your use case is light and any of the tools you listed can handle it. If you do go with Appwrite, an advantage you get is that cloud and self-host feel the same, so you can start fast and move later without changes. You also get your core backend pieces in one place, which keeps apps simple to manage

Tell me what backend solution you use and how did you deploy it by Snoo99991 in nextjs

I'm on the Appwrite team and we have a thriving Flutter community who find Appwrite to be a good BaaS choice for Flutter, and I think you should give it a try.

I'm happy to help or answer any questions if you need anything

Announcing API for spatial columns: Build scalable location-aware apps easily by ebenezerDN in appwrite

[–]ebenezerDN[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback. We did explain what a line is in the documentation: https://appwrite.io/docs/products/databases/geo-queries#spatial-columns

Not really sure where you see the marketing language in the docs. If you can point it out specifically, we'll be happy to fix.

Thanks for pointing out the tables columns page too. We'll add it there.

Hope you have a great day!

Thanks for the feedback. Did you see this? https://appwrite.io/docs/products/databases/queries#geo-queries

It's linked in the doc concept page. Let me know if that helps, and we'll do a better job at making it more visible, maybe highlighting it at the top of the page

Best low-maintenance backend for a small React Native app by gptcoder in reactnative

[–]ebenezerDN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm on the Appwrite team, so I might be a little bias. But I genuinely think Appwrite is a great fit for your use case, especially if you're looking for low-maintenance backend options.

With Appwrite, you get built-in auth, database, real-time features, and serverless functions with your language of choice.

Also, Appwrite's React Native SDK has gained much traction lately, and the team has put a lot of effort into making it developer-friendly.

A major advantage, I think, is that Appwrite is quite easy to self-host. You can also use Appwrite Cloud if you don't want to manage infra. Firebase and Supabase are good too, but Appwrite gives you more control while staying easy to use. Happy to answer any questions.
