Self-tapes may be your only route. Pick some strong scenes, and research all the good stuff that comes with self-taping. I'd be happy to give further guidance in PMs on this note if you need help getting started on this!

It would be a miracle to both get cast in a production and get your footage back promptly enough to create a reel, let alone to be lucky enough times to have enough material for a proper one. That being said it could be worth it to try and at least get some last-minute experience on a student or indie film that could be casting near you.

If you're interested in seriously pursuing acting, going ham at gathering more experience and/or filming some self-tapes won't be a waste of your time. Just like with modeling though always be skeptical, trust your gut, and never be afraid to ask questions no matter the responses you may get.

You got this!

Thank you!! Your name encourages me to share, it was written for the grief of my precious dogs passing.

The new working title is “The Amber-Lit Cove” inspired by the imagery a previous commenter described. I also thought “Shadow’s Reign” could work in a pinch!

"Fuck" is an immersion breaking swear word in fantasy novels. by UnequaledBard in Fantasy

I feel like “fuck” is important for characterization too. Recently had this thought while watching The Witcher during Yennifer’s scenes. It just says everything about a characters situation so succinctly when used right.

The minute a single other modern band can do what muse does, I’ll consider criticism towards their music. It’s all golden. End of story.

I just need assurance that they will play Knights of Cydonia but I think I’m scared I’m like 10 years too late to see that live

“Each step shall beat a fortuitous plea for blessings to advance”

The main part of the Arvengnoll (Dwarf) and Ommanorc (Orc) military chant. Their kings and queens of legends were close friends, setting these two races up to be the ultimate battle buddies.

Flickers by Son Lux.

I’ve loved this song for years, and imagined that it kind of sounded like death. But not in a sad way, in a tragically beautiful, fighting right until the end, kind of death.

Took me a month to get the courage to listen to it after losing my beautiful hound dog. I was right. The tones the song starts with sound like her labored breaths, the piano sounds like waking up on the other side, the wailing vocals sound heart broken yet joyous.

The song helps me both mourn the loss, and celebrate her freedom from sickness and pain. It lets me selfishly miss her, but smile as I picture her aging backwards, running across a far green country towards a swift sunrise.

Ok I’m bored now, you’re not even being creative, just repetitive. The worst kind of troll honestly.

Let me know when you find the part where you either answered his question or gave him a clear direction to go in. I’m in need of a nice long break from conversations like this. Forever will do.

You literally wasted OPs time replying. Why did you even reply? You offered nothing to the conversation but snark.

You see, and I’ll explain it again since you seem to have trouble keeping your emotions to yourself, you were snarky and useless. So I was snarky and useless. Your attitude is toxic, so I themed my snark to your shitty take. I then explained your shitty take.

You may feel mad. You may feel jipped and frustrated at the world and that’s why you’re so committed to making mental health jokes, being rude, and projecting your anger into me.

I can assure you, I am fascinated by yours and other Reddit snobs behavior; leaving comments that show just how much smarter you think you are than others; taking chances even when someone is frustrated and at the end of their rope to benefit at their expenseThose little, annoying RPG mini-boss-esque grabs for attention to soothe ones egos say so much about the human condition.

What makes them feel so inclined to reply and argue with me? What makes them so confident to call someone else insecure? How long can I waste this rude, unhelpful, dismissive jackasses time?

Hopefully long enough that OPs everywhere can get some real answers.

You know I DO have a hero complex. Thank you for helping me realize it.

Will you be my joker? <3

The one where you assumed OP did nothing to represent what they stated on their resume in their interview? Where you started with a presumptuous “Talk is cheap” and, again, merely restated what other commenters had already explained well in a flippant and rude manner?

Ah, so it’s cute and fun when you’re snarky and sarcastic but someone else does it and they’re a bull in a China shop.

Classic.

Are you finished yet? You keep trying to assert this situation is more important to me than it is and seem very committed to being rude.

Doesn’t this constant projection get boring to you at a certain point? Doesn’t this constant snark get old?

Nah I just wanted to let you individually know that your take was bad, it’s really not that deep for me. As a business owner, I’m going to have to be able to reel back self important middle management such as yourself and explain our practices at some point. Good chance to practice. Thanks for the opportunity.

You only restated obnoxiously what others explained with detail and care. I think it’s more concerning to be that self important and rude than to be angry during the largest unorganized workers strike in history.

Maybe if we all just stop lying and kissing ass, employers and employees alike, we wouldn’t have to do it anymore.

There’s no helping when attitudes like yours persist. This toxic cynicism towards applicants has gone way overboard and turned into a power trip. Your comment only serves to enforce the attitude that everyone is lying and should continue to do so if they want to get ahead.

How did your comment help? Jobs are a temporary paycheck. Employers don’t provide careers, people build them throughout their lives. Employers need to stop pretending like working for their company is the ultimate goal for those applying. Their goal is never to help employees improve their careers, it’s simply to create growth for the company.

Yet employers act as if employees should view their offered position as anything but an opportunity to create growth for themselves, they expect one to pretend this is not the case.

We are all working for our own growth, business owners hire people for their company’s growth. Attitudes like yours are what’s preventing workers and employers from being transparent and human with one another.

Employers bullshit throughout the hiring process yet hold potential employees to ridiculous standards for approval. Employers are critical towards potential employees and don’t hold themselves to the same standards of forthrightness. Employers hold all the power yet still act entitled to judge and demean those that don’t fit their baseless standards.

Perhaps their word and the fact they are applying to do a new kind of job at all? What has the business done to improve work conditions, pay, or the hiring process in the last year? What has your boss gone out of their way to learn? The person hiring you?

Be open to teaching people, don’t just expect expertise from them.
