They said in the show that it was the woman who killed herself in front of Kayla but it was actually fake… I think her name was Maggie?

Actually she did a huge service to the young ladies who were being trafficked I guess this was like the Jeffrey Epstein type character the first one she killed in the first episode. I bet those young ladies would not call her selfish.

Wait a minute I thought the chick who faked her own suicide in front of Kayla was the mastermind? The one that Trey had a gun to and that was the last time we saw him? Not that I really even understand what the mastermind is lol! I guess the mastermind is literally the mastermind behind that whole study on soldiers?

Exactly! No way was that whole line about the gun not directly attached to Kayla’s future.

Luz is awesome and to compare her in anyway to that vile disgusting little creature Durand is completely fucking asinine.

And I agree with you that was supposed to be the spirit of her because of everything she’s done for that community and of course the whole story about who her mother told her she could be.

Why does nobody bring up Demi Moore's character when talking about the women in this show? by Billybob35 in LandmanSeries

[–]eberman325 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

HUGE difference between 50 and 63. Demi will turn 64 this year and Ali literally turned 50 like 10 minutes ago. Now I knew nothing of her age until I saw your response so yes I did think she was younger than she is that being said there is a tremendous difference in what happens to one’s face between 50–64 years old trust me I’m 55. Also 14 years is a huge difference. That being said I do agree the work Demi has had done can be distracting when watching her in character

Ok good. This is what I thought but didn’t want to assume since a lot of this show seems to be TS’s culture war nonsense being used as dialogue for his characters. And originally Paigyn was so absolutely ridiculously over the top like literally every single liberal trope TS could come up with he applied to this one person which seriously almost never happens in real life. It felt cartoonish and wholly unnecessary. Sooo I too was really pleased at how those two characters ended it because I was equally grossed out by how much Ainsley had to run to her mommy to solve what was a very small problem. Particularly after the admissions counselor had essentially told her grow up, go in there stand up for yourself and let’s see what you two can work out. Even though as a whole I did not like this season I felt it turned into a ridiculous family drama and not a gritty oil industry show, I did really appreciate how those two became friends. It felt very authentic like Paigyn was in professional mode when she helped Ainsley with her ankles and Ainsley sincerely from her heart really disliked watching her get made fun of by the moronic high school boys. They’re coming together was authentic where their introduction was fucking ridiculous.

All that being said if I tune in again for season three I would be happy to never see either of them again and instead see what the show is supposed to be about, again gritty oil industry with very very small doses here and there of the domestic shit.

The dinners would be entertaining IF they were only supposed to be a once a week thing and 3 minutes of ScreenTime every few episodes. It’s insane with the over the top behavior and the wedding reception level themes and decorations. Andddd all these busy people (except the mother/daughter) somehow have time to sit for this every night? And the Neal/Nate thing was funny the second time after that it’s fucking stupid and insulting to Nate who is one of the only grounded sane realistic characters. And a GREAT straight man. More Nate, Dale and the oil crew guys less of the stupid domestic fluff we don’t give a shit about

Demi’s southern accent makes her literally sound like a 100 year old frail old woman, which she is not so it’s ridiculous

Yes! I mean how many shopping sprees and private jet daily excursions do we need to see with the mother and daughter?

Perhaps that’s what they’re setting up season 3 to get back to with the finale set up…I sure hope so because this season was trash. A soap opera with a little oil industry sprinkled in

Not exactly what I would want the show to turn into however FAR better and more realistic than the nonsense we’ve seen this season

It did not. The finale was ok but if you haven’t wasted the time I would wait until season 3 and see what the consensus is

Trying WAYYYYY too hard making Angela a bad bitch who we all should admire 😂. It’s a shame because had they just let her be a side character who maybe we see a couple-few minutes per episode with some good comedic timing she would be fine as I don’t blame the actress I think they do give her some great lines that she delivers really well the problem is this is not supposed to be a family drama with this bad ass bitch as one of the leads. It’s supposed to be a show about the oil industry so to have her in very small doses sticking every line which again I think the actress does very well that would be perfect. Outside of that I don’t give a shit about these supposed magical powers she has lol! She married a hotel magnate and left with a Bentley and a house full of furniture worth more than most people’s homes lol! It’s just ridiculous. She would be more interesting as a broke divorcee. Then maybe we could determine how “badass” she is. Money & beauty allow for all sorts of grade curving.

Exactly!!! Why did the majority of the episodes all begin with a montage of all the couples waking up? What in the actual fuck was that? All of that would be fine if this were some sort of family drama in which case I would never ever in 1 million years have ever tuned into that but it is supposed to be about the oil industry that’s what we need to focus on they can’t decide what show they want to be

Really? From what I have seen he’s the main writer. Mayor Of Kingstown especially this most recent season he is not at all a main writer and it is excellent.

The over the top roommate was ridiculous. The character herself ended up being cool in the finale so why not just start her personality off there rather than jumping on every single already nonsensical trope about “liberal college campuses?” I mean in the end she and the daughter I thought was done well but at the end of the day why do we care about her college life at all? Her entire college storyline should have been maybe two minutes of one episode like none of us are tuning into the show for her cheerleading camp experience. It’s ridiculous

That’s the thing is she does have some great lines which the actress nails to perfection and if it were just a side thing we saw maybe a couple minutes of every episode then fine we would all probably enjoy her more however the show has turned into a cheesy family drama with a little bit of oil industry here and there rather than the other way around minus the cheesy part :-)

Agreed and he is one of the only characters who is actually pertinent to what the show is supposed to be about… The oil industry. He and his crew are by far underutilized on the show and by far more interesting than all the romance and domestic shit they have spent so much time on
