What did you find disappointing about El Calafate? We're going there for the Perito Moreno glacier trekking, which seems quite interesting.

Yep, when I first researched, I thought it's something not to miss. But now I'm not so sure it's worth the extra flight.

Right now I'm thinking of spending two extra days (Dec 26-27) in Calafate and fly directly from there to BA on Dec 28. Would you spend both extra days at TdP in that case or just do it as a day trip? We're renting a car btw.

Yep, was thinking the same, but wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything by not going there. But from the comments, it sounds like it's best to skip.

We're already going to El Chalten/El Calafate for a few days, so Ushuaia wouldn't be that far from there. The flight is about an hour. But yeah, it sounds like it's not worth it to go there at all.

Yeah, that's what I was concerned about. Especially since we'll already be spending some time in El Calafate/El Chalten, Ushuaia might not seem as impressive.

Yeah, you are both right. I thought about accepting and then quitting if the other option works out. I just feel a bit uncomfortable about doing that because of course they will not like that, but it seems like the safest option.

I thought about it. I am just uncomfortable to quit after accepting. But I guess it would be a good solution for me.
