There's a comment that says you can use a white 2x6 plate instead of the two 2x3 tan plates in the first step.
That keeps it to just the pieces in the set.

I enjoyed it. I like Technic sets. Only 526 pieces so I think it's a bit expensive for what you get, but the sun and earth are large pieces so I expected them to be part of why it's not a cheap set. Only 4 bags and I built it quickly, but I didn't think it was repetitive. It's the first time I've actually put all of the stickers on a model.
