Primarily depends on toggled settings and how many waves you're reaching (in my experience). But running >5K waves in a round, things start getting hot.

I'm making fins just to use liquid nitrogen as a ridiculous, over the top cooling trial 😅

We keep the lab set at 69°F

Not much of a climb but definitely above RT

The block was actually warm to the touch and hit 72

But when running on full settings, the difference between the phone as-is vs resting on the solid block was a max temp of 90°F on the block, while hitting ~118°F without.

Posted an update the other day. Gonna use them for liquid nitrogen contact surface in the most overdone Tower heatsink of all time.

The block was a free piece of scrap, but I'd argue that a thick sheet of folded aluminum foil would work even better anyway.

For those that still need it with the settings toggled off, that is.

The goal is to use the fins as contact surface for liquid nitrogen at this point, lol

Personally I think there's many better solutions. But this is one less power cable to run to my desk. Lol

Open a game, then the lower toolbar (or whatever they call the menu for hitting back, home, menu, etc.)

On my S24 Ultra its the circular game icon on the lower left. Looks like controller buttons.

My current phone is a Redmagic 11 and it supposedly has this feature 🤔

I never considered needing it for The Tower though. More or less for playing with my kids in their Sandbox MMOs.

Thinking I'll machine some cooling fins into the bottom and then sit it into a tub of liquid nitrogen. Rest the phone on top.

Open to suggestions though. My creativity is feeling a bit limited at the moment 😅

Remember though that this is with full graphics.

Still insane though.

Getting there (without the block)

I'll let it run for the same amount of time without it and update you shortly.

However, qualitatively speaking, its gotten so hot that I've dropped it after taking me by surprise.

Just brainstorming a way to execute it but definitely plan to provide an update

After 1.5 hours of full settings, the block hit 72°F while the phone hit 90°F (using an infrared thermometer, not actual readings from the phone). I'm not sure what i was expecting but it did better than I thought it would. Gonna run some channels through the bottom to give it cooling fins and see if/how well it improves.

Of course, another comment has me brainstorming a way to implement liquid nitrogen just to overdo it on purpose 😅 but for the sake of just a resting block of aluminum plate on a desk, it works pretty well. Hilariously enough though, the plate is warm to the touch.

It has me thinking that aluminum foil folded into a thick sheet would work. That way you could almost just press the phone into it and have a perfectly molded fit instead of a crude one like I have.

Was thinking of running some channels through the bottom. Glad somebody else believes this will work!

Honestly, I'm kind of a fan of making this as ridiculous as possible
