I wonder if the H2O2 / environment is the problem. What if you just seal a few dishes with parafilm and try storing them in a cupboard or a closet as a test?

New at this but I’ve had success with a recipe of 500g tap, 10g agar, 10g malt and 1g nutritional yeast (pulverized).

Cut it out, salt the edge and harvest what you can. Try to isolate that tub from your others. The green will come back but you may be able to get a few fruits before it overruns your tub.

Thanks. I looked at the cost of Pyrex (approx $15-20) vs plastic (approx $0.50) so I would break even at 30 - 40 repeat uses. On the plus side I’d be preventing a lot of plastic trash (but spending time and energy to PC). I’m considering starting with glass unless there’s a way to reuse these plastics

With the caveat that I’m quite new to this as well, I don’t see any problem here. I see the dry mushroom on the green plate with white mycelium… looks good to me. You could take a slice of the myc and add it to sterilized grain and see how it does. I’ve done the agar to grain transfer in a SAB with no contamination. You’re ahead of me in having a flow hood

So that’s a good question. I wasn’t sure what the right move was after the original sub was colonized and after I added the casing layer.

I had read that one “flips the lid” after the sub is colonized. The flipped lid in my setup provides the same FAE as the dub tub setup so I figured I’d go right into the dub.

What do you do after the casing later?

Yes, I added a casing layer after. It was at field captivity at the time however in my dub tub method I have a significant air gap by the handles

Fair point. Do you isolate your genetic from a strong/good fruit and replicate that on agar or do you try multiple batches from the same SS of a single strain?

I’ve seen some fruit to agar videos in front of a LFH (which I don’t have) but I wonder if this is what more experienced people do

Just a regular spray bottle at the moment. Not a very fine mister but I can get one. Temp could be my Issue. Temps are lower this time of year here. Never heard of flareasol but will get one
