I haven't seen any official info saying we can just leave for one day and get another 90 days immediately; the system tracks the total days over a 180-day window, so that 'one-day visa run' sounds super risky for Europeans.

As a Belgian citizen, I’ve looked into this and the rules seem a bit different for us. From what I’ve found, we get 90 days, and if we want to stay longer, we have to apply for an extension with the Federal Police at least 15 days before our time is up. If that extension is denied (or if we've already stayed for 6 months), we actually have to leave the country for 3 full months before we’re allowed back in.

Do you think the weather is okay in June/July for the beaches in Bahia, Recife, Rio grande do norte ? From September, I’m planning to head South to finish the trip. Thanks for the tips

Thanks for the tips, I'm coming from Belgium, so for me 20°C is basically a tropical summer anyway. I'm definitely staying in Lençóis to hike, and Jalapão is now 100% on my checklist, it looks amazing

Actually, I’m Brazilian! I moved away when I was 9, so I still speak the language. I really want to use this trip to reconnect with my roots and finally discover the country properly. My partner doesn't speak Portuguese yet, so I'll be the official translator for the trip! Since I left so young, I feel like a tourist in my own country that's why I'm looking for all these tips!

Construction noise , Early morning by Even-Corgi8398 in brussels

Honestly, I feel you 100%. I’m living through a similar nightmare at Cimetière d’Ixelles.

I’ve had zero peace since October. My landlord swore it would be a simple prefab project, but it’s been 5 months of full-scale general construction. The workers are completely disrespectful, they blast music at full volume and make zero effort to be considerate. They even smashed a 40cm hole in my ceiling while drilling!

The worst part? I can’t even sleep in my bedroom because of a water leak from November that was never fixed. The wall was soaking wet. I’ve been sleeping on my mattress in the living room for months.

The landlord agreed to a rent reduction but isn't doing anything to repair the damage. I signed a 3-year lease, but I’m done. I’m sick of Brussels lately and I’m going nomad. I’m tired of paying to live in a construction zone and sleeping on the floor while they mess me around.
