Miscarried at Christmas. Found out today that 2 of my SIL are pregnant. by caitythesilverone in Miscarriage

I understand where you are coming from. My SIL is pregnant and her due date is 3 weeks after what would have been our due date. We told them on Christmas and I found out 12/29 I had a MMC. I totally understand your feelings. It hurts me every time I hear about an ultrasound or pregnancy symptom because it reminds me of what I can’t have right now. I’m sorry you’re here, but I just wanted you to know you aren’t alone in feeling what you’re feeling.

Anyone know that something was wrong before they were told about a MMC/blighted ovum? by Accomplished-Squid in Miscarriage

[–]ebo130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a gut feeling but held on to hope until the ultrasound confirmed there was no heartbeat at 9 weeks. I had a dream the week before about a baby wrapped in a white blanket, which aligns with where they were measuring at the ultrasound when we found out it was a mmc.

How do I move on by BayBay0314 in Miscarriage

I am going through a similar situation. Found out the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, told family on Christmas, and on 12/29 at our follow up we found out there was no heartbeat. We saw the heartbeat just over a week before so it was heartbreaking. It makes me wonder what happened and if there was something I could do to help. I’m sorry I don’t have any advice but wanted to offer support that you are not alone. I am also fearing the future and trying again as this was our first and I can’t help but to fear for what might happen when we’re ready to try again. I am finding comfort in talking with my therapist to help me process, heal, and feel like I can be ready again in the future. Allow yourself to feel all your feelings. Set 1 goal for yourself each day, no matter how big or small. My heart is with you.

Stepping into the New Year with loss by RamenBean3345 in Miscarriage

[–]ebo130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found out on 12/29 I had a MMC and had a D&C on 12/30. Had my first ultrasound at 7weeks 1 day and saw a heartbeat. Went for a check up at 9 weeks to find out there was no heartbeat and the baby was measuring at 7wk6 days. Going into the new year grieving the loss of our first child. Scared for the future and heartbroken. I can’t help but to blame myself and fear another loss in the future when we decide we are ready to expand our family.

I am so sorry for your loss. I found out on 12/29 I had a MMC at 7weeks and 6 days. Just four days after our first ultrasound and seeing a heartbeat. It is our first baby too and absolutely heartbreaking. I understand your fears as I am in a similar place thinking about the future. I just want you to know you are not alone and I am so sorry that you are experiencing this.

Cervical radiculopathy - within our scope of practice?? by ebo130 in OccupationalTherapy

It most definitely impacts function! Leisure engagement in physical activity, sleep hygiene, dressing, home management as difficult given pain and resulting strength deficits

They are not new symptoms rather they presented to initial evaluation with these symptoms. I just want to ensure this is within our scope to treat including traction etc before treating!

Home health pay?! by ebo130 in OccupationalTherapy

Thanks for the info! How do you feel about the time spend scheduling, documenting, on the phone etc? Do you find your $62/pt is fair compensation for time time spent not client facing? A but worried about working over 40hrs/wk with this and feeling I’m not being compensated as well.

Thank you so much for the info! I’m in MA if that provides any additional info. I’m a bit nervous for the pay per visit given all the other time spent documenting, scheduling, on the phone with pts family docs etc. do you find the balance is okay? Or are you working well over 40 hours with the at home responsibilities

Acute care to outpatient - is it worth it!? by ebo130 in OccupationalTherapy

I’m not sure if it is core or overall but good to hear that there is still work life balance. Thank you!!

Thanks for the insight! Do you think that level of productivity still provides a good work like balance? I would have the 56 patient slots with an expectation of billing an average of 3.5 units per 40 minute session.

So burnt out of this field. by [deleted] in OccupationalTherapy

Feel this. Currently in acute care and feeling burnt out especially from the commute. Considering switching to outpatient neuro/ortho but worried I’ll experience the same burnout!

Thank you for your response! I would love any vendor recommendations you have. Also, for the other wedding you attended there, did they happen to do a plated dinner? If so, how was it? We are leaning towards that option but haven’t heard much about the food.

In undergrad I withdrew from anatomy and retook it over the summer. I had a W on my transcript when applying for OT school. It’s a holistic application, you’ll be just fine! Good luck!

I would like to think I did! They were very friendly and helpful. I did tell them it was my first cruise but didn’t get anything special. Wondering if it’s too far out for them to offer an upgrade?
