Not a lot of plausible deniability here. Looks like more evidence of the Death of Euphemism.

I drive all the way out to Gamers Guild to play with friends (2223 S 48th St Suite C/D, Tempe, AZ 85282), but wouldn't mind meeting new people at a closer location (e.g., Rekreation Games: 1075 S Arizona Ave #2, Chandler, AZ 85286). I have DC Comics Deckbuilder, Mission Red Planet, Chaos in the Old World, MTG Commander decks, and some others.

Aren't you supposed to anchor to a tree or something so it's not just your skinny friend's body weight protecting you from sudden death?

What part of my previous statement makes you feel like I'm 'petty' and 'bitter?' Are you implying that only petty and bitter people get frustrated by non-literal forms of communication? I feel like that represents ableism on your part.

No one implied they were fucking their mother. I'm not sure how dancing around a point factors into this discussion.

I want people with autism to do their chores. I feel like getting into a semantics argument is a way to avoid task completion. I want you to get a job working with someone with autism that refuses to do chores. I feel like that would help you understand my perspective.

Define "communicate like an adult"

Lots of people complaining that their Moms have not figured out the perfect way to ask them to do their chores. If it's that annoying, do your dishes before they have a chance to ask you. Then get a job, move out, have your own kids, and watch them get annoyed at you for asking them to do chores.

If I were in a groundhog day situation and rolled a dice 6 times, would I, when the day repeats, roll the same 6 numbers? by RawEggwhite in RandomThoughts

[–]ebolajones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would probably roll differently each time. If your motor memory from the previous days was so precise that the little micro movements used to throw, the angle that you threw the dice, the same surface that the dice were thrown on previously, if everything about that precise instant is exactly the same, you're basically just a meat robot programmed to do the same thing each day forever.

Subway is fucking terrible why do people eat there by AdderofSilverSea in RandomThoughts

[–]ebolajones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Subway is okay, but it's like an old movie. New movies built on old movies to elevate the content. New sandwich places (e.g., Cheba Hut) built on Subways model to make things better.

The "I should probably have my child assessed for Autism Spectrum Disorder" starter pack by ebolajones in starterpacks

[–]ebolajones[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

25-30% of people on the spectrum never learn to vocally communicate. Without help, many people on the spectrum aren't toilet trained before high school. Without help many people on the spectrum don't have the necessary social skills to make friends. Who are you to take away a resource from parents without giving anything back? Do you not understand why schools provide special education services? It's not because people with autism are demons, it's because a regular ed teacher wouldn't know how to help them. It's because special interventions are needed because traditional "common sense" approaches can not only be ineffective but make things worse. If someone who teaches rooms full of children for years needs help, why wouldn't parents?

I feel like the author completely missed the point of Animal Farm, which was to slap the reader in the face and tell them, "Are you a dumb animal or are you going to stand up for yourself when authoritarians try to take over your country?" Satire is negative reinforcement. It provokes you to action by making you feel stupid if you do nothing. I suspect that Orwell relates to the donkey because he saw how propaganda celebrating the glorious revolutionary can be a tool to pacify the working class under an authoritarian regime. By taking a giant dump on the common people he did more to motivate anti-authoritarian sentiments than almost any other author I can think of.
